Quote:Multiple sources familiar with the situation described a sharply divided board of regents and a potential razor-thin margin either way, with the SEC camp having the momentum. Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott, armed with invitations, will visit A&M officials today on a trip around Texas with stops at UT and Texas Tech, a source familiar with the schedule confirmed.
Scott met Saturday with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
Can you imagine, WOO-ing Texas Tech? - Redrum - 06-13-2010
I wonder how long Larry Scott could keep a straight face when telling the guys with the bolo string ties: Â " We think Texas Tech, and the Lubbock community a natural fit for the Pac-10 culture. Â Sort of a Texas version of Fresno St., Â but without so many drunks picking fights during the tailgaters..."

From the Houston Chronicle:
Quote:A&M on verge of making an SEC exchange
COLLEGE STATION Texas A&M has grown starry-eyed for the Southeastern Conference, an Aggies insider said Sunday, and A&M considers its overall athletic endeavors grander than the death of a conference rivalry game on Thanksgiving.
A&Ms board of regents likely will meet late this week perhaps as soon as Thursday to decide the Aggies sporting future, a person with knowledge of the situation said. And that future appears to be the SEC, as the powerful league to the east is prepared to lure A&M away from the clinging-to-hope Big 12, a proposed Pacific-10 affiliation and its storied league rivalry with Texas.

A&M to the SEC will open up Texas to SEC recruiting in a big way, I fear. Â It will not open up the SEC states to A&M\'s recruiting.
Yup - Redrum - 06-14-2010
Texas was the recruiting territory the Pac-10 was supposed to have as its private happy hunting ground. Â Who does the SEC think it is?
