It's always great to read the stories of the accomplishments of Stanford athletes. Ziyi Wang from the women's golf team has just been awarded a Rhodes scholarship. Congratulations to her!

My absolute favorite thing about Stanford Athletics - and why I donate to Buck/Cardinal - is that we are one of few college programs that still keep the STUDENT in the foreground of student-athlete

A great accomplishment indeed, big congrats to her.
The only U$C athlete/Rhodes Scholar I'm aware of was Pat Haden. But I'm sure Aunt Becky's daughters have a shot.

Impressive that she won 1 of 4 Rhodes awarded to Chinese citizens, compared to 32 for US citizens. Since they began 5 years ago, most Chinese awards have gone to students studying in China but Stanford has some. In 5 years, the number of Chinese Rhodes will double to 8. Stephen Schwarzman is a major donor supporting the Chinese Rhodes scholarships.
