5 Reasons why UW wins Saturday - cincoDAWGfan - 11-30-2020

Hi "Tree" fans!

First of all, welcome to Seattle. Always fun to host a classy, intellectually inclined program like Stanford. Lot of mutual respect between the DWAGS and the Trees that call "The Farm" home. We are on a roll and think we'll catch Stanford at just the right time. Hopefully the Covid catches neither of us!

Here is why the UW will win this week.

1. Dylan "Jake" Morris - the best player on the field, enough said on that. With four years of high school and three college games under his belt, he will do everything possible to win the game.

2. Offensive Line. We average a weight of 332 across the line, and they are ready to dominate the line of scrimmage. Victor Curne, Rosborough, Center, Ossai, Kirkland Sig. These boys have an attitude and are ready to rumble!!!

3. Kwietcatski. A new defensive scheme and a new attitude. Everyone is speaking out about the difference between our first half game plan and second half game plan against the UTE. You will see a much improved defense on 12/5.

4. Speed, speed, speed. This is the fastest team Washington has had this century, maybe since 1991. Artem Wallace, John Ross IV, Charlie McClutchin, Brandon Kaho, Savell Azeem Ahmed, JR Hasty, Myles Gaskin etc. The newbies will be inexperienced but we bring a new dimension that the program has not had in years...speed.

5. Time of possession. I think we can win the time of possession battle in this one. the more we can control the ball and keep our defense off the field, the greater chance we’ll have to win.

I think UW wins this one rather easily, say… 34-17???

RE: 5 Reasons why UW wins Saturday - OutsiderFan - 11-30-2020

UW was extremely lucky to beat Utah. Morris was really unimpressive.

Utah, UW, Cal, and Stanford all look like mirror images of each other.  All want to play physical offense with TEs prominently featured.

Davis Mills is the most talented QB among all these teams, but he's been rusty after missing two weeks of practices and then playing a good Cal defense last week.

Still, Stanford sucks and can't stop the run. UW should win 30-something to 13. But the whole Pac-12 stinks, and the season is a joke, so who the hell really cares?

RE: 5 Reasons why UW wins Saturday - JohnR34231 - 12-01-2020

The way Stanford has played this year I'm not optimistic about this one, especially since it is in Seattle. A 34-17 loss wouldn't shock me, although I'm certainly hoping for a better outcome.

RE: 5 Reasons why UW wins Saturday - Snorlax94 - 12-01-2020

Yeah I could see Stanford losing by 20+

To win, I could see Stanford needing to score 35, maybe even 45, and that doesn’t look like the likeliest outcome.

Stanford needs to make big leaps in several major areas. If it can, then it can be a very good team, and if it becomes a very good team, well, anything can happen on a Saturday.

So I’m hoping Stanford can make all the improvements it needs to by Saturday. I’d like to think that Stanford has enough talent and athleticism and experience in some key areas that, in theory, it could make that leap. In theory.

UDub fan... your prose is stuck in WCW 1995 style. Just stay safe, wear a mask and perhaps you will come to grips that this season is a non-season.

If you can get excited about a Pac12 football game in 2020, you have the excitement threshold of a toddler. I envy you.

Guys, why are we taking seriously a post from some rando who created an account purely to post this?

RE: 5 Reasons why UW wins Saturday - Phogge - 12-01-2020

Because it harkens back to the old offensive TDome when we eviscerated trolls just for the fun. Of course we were about eleven years old emotionally but there were some great lines coming from the lips of troglodytes. Goes back to spending too much time in a dugout.

The 1995 prose fits the message board it's posted on

ESPN has UW in the Fiesta Bowl. Has the might Tree gotten to the point it scoffs at NY6 games?

I take it you're not majoring in Italian.

I suppose when the NCAA allows ESPN to make the bowl matchups, this will be important

DWAG = Denture Wearers Action Group

Artem Wallace played basketball for UW over a decade ago. And wasn't he arrested for hit-and-run?
John Ross IV? Does John Ross III have a college age son? That's pretty...precocious...for a 25 year-old.
Charlie McClutchin. I have no idea who this is.
Brandon "Ale" Kaho was not admitted to UW and plays football at Alabama.
Savell Azeem Ahmed--you mean Salvon Ahmed? OK, I'll give you that one.
JR Hasty played for Tyrone Willingham over ten years ago and quit the team.
Myles Gaskin is currently playing for the Miami Dolphins.

It's a satire account, the same guy always shows up here or the other board bragging about players who haven't been there in years.

Because on this board, the sort of old-fashioned childish trash talk that you see elsewhere is almost... quaint.

PS, I think this poster has been here before, perhaps with a different account; the style is pretty recognizable.

I'm just bumping this thread for no particular reason.

Well since CincoDAWGfan went to all the trouble of creating an account just to provide his incisive analysis into the upcoming Stanford-Washington game, will he or she return to posit an opinion as to what happened???

RE: 5 Reasons why UW wins Saturday - magnus - 12-05-2020

It's obvious.  The weather was too nice.  Too hot for December in Seattle.    UW players were getting bogged down by their own sweat. =)

lex24 - lex24 - 12-05-2020

Well he missed on four out of five. Morris was not even the best quarterback on the field - not by a long shot. Washington’s defense got shredded. Their speed didn’t hurt Stanford. And Stanford dominated time of possession – at least in the first half

RE: 5 Reasons why UW wins Saturday - BostonCard - 12-05-2020

We won the time of possession battle 32:25 to 27:35.  More importantly, because both offenses were using lots of clock, UW only had four possessions in the second half (they only had three in the first half).  So even though they scored on each of their four possessions of the second half, all we needed to do was score once to put the game out of reach.

Game was played at Stanford’s tempo.  If I’m playing Stanford,  I am using a fair amount of up-tempo offense.
