Women's Bracketology - Brackets in all shapes and sizes (espn.com)
Interesting

At the moment they project Stanford as a number one regional seed regardless of bracket size.
A 16 team bracket would be extremely disappointing to many teams. I don't see it happening. Either cancel the tournament completely or have at least 48 teams. Make the decision as late as possible to make the best possible decision.

They're going to play the NCAA Tournament (have some optimism). Of course, it may be "May Madness," but that's okay!

Meanwhile, NC State up on South Carolina 36-33 after three quarters. I still think South Carolina is the favorite this year, but it is nice to know they are not as strong as I thought. Go Tar Heels!

Down goes Frazier. Down goes Frazier.
South Carolina is about to lose with 10 seconds left.
Your new #1 on Monday will be ...............Stanford if they can beat UNLV.

#8 NC State beats #1 So. Carolina 54-46 at So. Carolina.
Poor offensive numbers for both teams. Both under 30% FG, under 25% 3FG, So. Carolina 4 of 11 FT.
Previously, So Carolina beat #20(ish) South Dakota by 10 and beat Gonzaga by 7.

This year the quality of the team will likely matter less than the luck/skill in avoiding COVID. The #1 team in the nation in March might not be able to play in April.
I was disappointed in about 4 Stanford players that were not following required protocols on the bench in their first game. I can't imagine that they follow them better when they are out on their own.

Assuming this is true, I hope staff is aware of this breach of protocol and is taking appropriate positive steps.

In the WBB games I have watched on TV some bench players wear masks and some don't. Some starters when out of the game wear masks, most don't. Is there a mandatory rule by the NCAA or Stanford to wear a mask if not playing. I will pay more attention to this when watching games.

I think MT was referring to local county guidelines but I'm not positive.

With the caveat that perhaps this was an intended gaffe, in which case i stepped right into it, but NC State is the red S of the East. (Though looks like they've inlaid an N and a C into the S since I last looked (last century). Guess they didn't want to be mistaken for us). Definitely not powder blue. =)

Answering the question above:
The
California rules require face masks by the non-active players.
Quote:On June 18, CDPH issued Guidance on the Use of Face Coverings, which broadly requires the use of face coverings for both members of the public and workers in all public and workplace settings where there is a high risk of exposure. All of those involved in collegiate athletics, including coaches, staff, media and players not engaged in play, are subject to these requirements.
The
Santa Clara County order makes it absolutely clear: "Only athletes who are actively engaged in athletic activity may remove their face coverings." Some of the visitors as well as the home team and a referee didn't follow the rules (masks & distancing) in the Stanford - Cal Poly game. (I emailed my concerns to Stanford.)

Well MT let’s hope the season stops then.
