WBB: Stanford 101 UNLV 54 - 81alum - 12-05-2020
Preview:
Lindy bailed us out by offering us a game outside of Santa Clara County, and now we get to see how discombobulated the whole experiment will leave our team. After such a great beginning game, it would be nice to see high execution continue.
UNLV is 1-1 under Lindy so far, and is led by redshirt senior guard Bailey Thomas, who just went 6-6 from three point range against Fullerton. She is the sister of Sam Thomas at Arizona.
The Mountain West streaming site lists the game properly here, but I will just hope it works at the time the game starts:

Hard to tear myself away from the football game. The video site is saying the game will start at 2:33, which is not what the Stanford schedule says.

Try turning off your ad blocker if you have one, and reloading the page. Hope that helps! I'm using the Chrome browser on a laptop running Linux, BTW.

In upper right corner under LIVE NOW, click on the team names to go to the screen with the video player on it. Then click on the > button in the player to start it.
Odd that the URL looks like a date in the past, but that's what's at the top of my window that I'm watching in.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just grateful they got to take the court at all... but how did Missy Barlow end up as a ref at both of the first two games?

After an 11-0 hot start we go 9-9 the rest of the quarter and the first quarter finished 20-9.

A lot of mixing and matching of players. This is my uneducated guess. Tara doesn't want to run up the score and embarrass Lindy's team.
Stanford looking ok. A few ball handling mistakes that need to be corrected. Good opportunity for the Stanford team to learn early in the season.

Au contraire, mon frere- this is the best time of the year to get everyone some playing time to develop chemistry and experience running their sets against opposition. Once we start encountering the UCLA/USC, Arizona/ASU, and Oregon/OSU buzzsaw weekends, we will have no such luxury.

I missed most of the first quarter but the part I saw was a bit disjointed, too many turnovers, but with so many players in and out and the lack of practice this week, not really a concern.

Did someone tell Brink to shoot the ball every time she touched it. I have to say it like it is. Brink played out of control the first half. She did not look good. At the very end of the half she did make an easy layup.
