WBB Stanford 83 Cal 38 Tara Tied Pat - 81alum - 12-12-2020

Preview:

Our team has the chance to help Tara tie Pat's record for total wins at 1098.  Cal is 0-4 including a double digit loss to Washington.  They have been shooting only 18% of their threes and have half the number of assists as their opponents.  Cal has only 9 players who have played this year and is loaded up with freshmen and foreign players leading the team.  Charmin has started 8 different players as she looks for the right combination.  Freshman Dalayah Daniels has been their most consistent player with 13 ppg.  In the last game Cal started 3 freshmen, a sophomore, and senior Archer Olson from Gunn High School here in Palo Alto.  Archer joined the team last year as a walk-on.  A nice story there for a local kid.

It appears cal will have just 7 players tonight. Of course we shall see if 8

Yep, overlapping -- idiotic scheduling. Maybe Covid had an impact on this, but since both games were scheduled a while ago, and neither one of them is a shift because of this or that, just seems to me that someone out there just wasn't thinking. Given how really significant the women's game is, I wonder how many will put their priority on the women's game. As for us, we're recording the men's game, will watch the women live.

WBB at Cal at 7:00 pm on PAC-12.

MBB at USC at 6:30 pm on FS1.

As I understand it WBB on live stream. MBB not on live stream. Must get FS1 to watch men

I don't think WBB will be free to live stream, since it will be televised on Pac-12 Networks. You'll need a TV provider login if you want to stream it.

FS1 should be similar: you can probably live stream it on the Fox Sports app or website if you have a TV provider login.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - M T - 12-13-2020

What UltimateCard is saying is that the men's game is postponed as USC doesn't have enough scholarship players.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - 81alum - 12-13-2020

Looking forward to our game in an hour.

Just finished watching Oregon/Oregon State.  Oregon is turning into a top team.   Prince and Sabally are as advertised.  And we knew about Boley.  But Paopao is turning into a true star, shooting treys at 40% and leading the league in assists.  She had 22 points tonight--as a true freshman.  And Maryland transfer Mikesell finished tonight with 21 points.  Oregon has 3 transfer students starting for it to go with this surprising freshman.  They will be, as usual, our toughest competition, despite graduating all those WNBA players.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - BobK - 12-13-2020

Paopao was like a child prodigy. I heard about her 8 th grade. Then ACLs But she is something. And healthy

Mikesell a brobdingnagian pick up.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - 81alum - 12-13-2020

Same five starters: Belibi, Jones, Lexi, Williams, Wilson.

BEAT CAL!

And we get out to a 12-0 lead! GO CARD!

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - 81alum - 12-13-2020

Hope no one minds that I hope Archer Olson has a good game.  A walk-on senior who started her first game a game ago--a 3.97 econ major at Cal from Gunn.

But not TOO good a game :)

16-4 after 1st quarter.  Our offense looked a bit disjointed.  Poor Cal.  Until they hit a 3 at the end, it looked like it would end 16-1.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - martyup - 12-13-2020

Stanford up 16-4 at end of 1st Q.  Shooting has grown cold.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - BobK - 12-13-2020

Missing good shots kept the score down. Need Williams to be hot ftom three this year

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - Treefence - 12-13-2020

I can't say it enough, Brink is so good.  Her and Jones are incredible talents, and having both on our team is a blessing.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - 81alum - 12-13-2020

Brink is looking good on offense.  Cal won't give our defense much of a test though.  And yes, Williams needs to start shooting out of her slump.  1-9 not looking good so far.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - martyup - 12-13-2020

Brink is leading all scorers with 9 in 8 minutes of play.  Score 30-10 with 4:33 to go in the 2nd.

RE: WBB Stanford @ Cal Sunday 7pm - CompSci87 - 12-13-2020

Feeling sorry for Charmin and Cal. She just has too little to work with this year. Stanford practices must be way more competitive than this.

Spike - Spike - 12-13-2020

I LOVE the Hulls but Lexie does not finish!
She didn’t last year and not tonight.
I want it all!
