I was pleasantly surprised at how good Tara seemed to feel about her team. She doesn’t seem to worry at all, about toughness. She pointed out how well, they had rebounded. Interestingly, she was quite positive about Prechtel..i sensed Tara was looking for ways to play her more.

I was intrigued at how, pleased she was at the prospect of the entire tournament being in San Antonio..not sure I have quote exactly right but something like “ that’s the only way we will get omplay.” Only downer was observation that if Santa Clara County kept rules in place “Imdont see how we can play.”

I thought the Zoom was great and Tara was very relaxed and responsive.  She is clearly impressed with Brink but still has confidence in Prechtel to perform well.  She basically said she will mix and match depending on the situation and doesn't know who her base 5 will be.  I think that Prechtel will be needed when teams decide to get physical with Brink and/or Pac 12 officials put Brink in foul trouble.  I also think that Prechtel will be fine.  She isn't getting first team time this year like she was as the 6th player last year and has been the one plagued by foul calls so far.  If she can clean that up, she will be really important for our long term success against teams with strong front courts.  Looking forward to more of these as, and if, the season continues.

Cheers,
Pete F.

Tara said Brink understands who not to foul. Big step for any frosh.
Also Brink going against Curtis Borchardt would have been fun to watch

I guess I totally missed this.   Where was the zoom advertised?  Was there a recording (if so, where)?

Don't you mean how not to foul? Of course knowing who not to foul would be good too.

Tara said during the Zoom that when looking at scouting film, she likes to say, "Cam, is that player as good as Curtis?" I think the idea was that if not, Cam shouldn't worry about handling her.

Some other points:
Ashten and Cameron working on dunks.
Rebounding is the biggest improvement so far. She wants the team to be more aggressive and "build on the good things we're doing."
She considers several factors in allocating playing time:
   How they do in practice.
   The game situation.
Putting them in situations where they look good.
Playing tag team, giving players a chance to rest on the bench.
Jenna is rehabbing at home in Atlanta.
She doesn't have plans to retire  any time soon given the quality of recruits.

Awesome news (note, even if she had planned to retire, I wouldn't expect her to say so).
