Don't look now, but the Badgers went down and the Sooners are behind by 3 touchdowns in the third. If the Red Raiders hang on, Stanford will move to # 5...behind Alabama, LSU, OSU and Clemson.

My guess is that Stanford actually passes Clemson because of Stanford's big win AND USC's win over Notre Dame. Those events will really help Stanford's SOS. And if Stanford did not pass Clemson this week, then a win AT USC will do the trick.
Michigan State's win was really big, but a Texas Tech upset would turn this into a dream day. Oklahoma is more than capable of beating Kansas State and OK State.
BTW - Why is this Big12 game running so late? Was there a weather delay or something?

Severe weather delayed the start of the game by an hour and 45 minutes. It was supposed to start at the same time as the Stanford game.

Texas Tech is clearly on the ropes. One more TD and it could be OK. And yet, it seems like Oklahoma could make this 10 point lead disappear in seconds.
HOWEVER, it should be noted that Texas Tech is not that good, and Oklahoma is playing at home. Not that Stanford has played a close game, but if Stanford trailed a game in the 4th quarter at home the pollsters would destroy Stanford in the polls.
Can't wait to see how low Wilner puts Stanford this week. Clearly UW was not that good since UW lost to Nebraska, that lost to Wisconsin, that lost to Notre Dame, that lost to SC. And we all know SC is not that good. So let's put Stanford a spot or two above SC.
It is very important that Stanford won big this week. It will be very hard to put any one loss team above a Stanford team that just gave another ranked team a big beat down.

We just need to keep winning. None of this matters if we lose. I'm confident that if we win out there won't be a logjam of 5 or 6 other unbeatens.

Yeeeee!! Drive home safe everyone!
The best thing is that Oklahoma probably will be favored against K State and OK State. An Oklahoma upset is a dream. Texas Tech is good enough that the loss probably is not a season breaker for Oklahoma. Still, this is taking place at Oklahoma.Â
Best part of the day is that the Voldemort and the BCS Title stars are aligning tonight.Â

Not so fast. LSU is not losing. Alabama is not losing. One will lose to the other, but an SEC team will be in the championship game. I would put good money on the idea that a one loss SEC champ would bump others out of the BCS, but LSU or Bama will be in the game as an undefeated.
Boise State is not losing. Houston is not losing.
I think I get to three undefeated teams, without Stanford. So Stanford would be one of four. I guess I could agree there won't be 6, but you only need 3 for there to be a team left out of the game. Just ask TCU fans!

Agree that you can pencil an SEC team in for one side of the NCG. I don't think Boise or Houston ends up ahead of us with their strength of schedule, assuming we beat $C, UO, and ND, then presumably ASU. But even though we are playing great right now, that is a tall order.
On the one hand, having an undefeated Stanford team shut out of the NCG would be crushing. On the other hand, we'll be playing a good opponent in the Rose Bowl with a chance to finish 3 or 4 in the BCS.
Right now there is no opponent other than South Central.

That's true for the team and the staff. But as a fan, the only game worth watching is in Oklahoma. Texas Tech is a decent team, and yet they are so clearly outclassed by Oklahoma.
Just hold on! Ah missed FG. Thank you!
BTW - These other prime time games were a lot more exciting. The Wisconsin vs. Michigan State game was amazing. And Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma is just great entertainment.

3 point game, 1:10 to play. Texas Tech needs to cover this onside kick. OU has no timeouts.

Final score
Texas Tech 41
Oklahoma 38

and they caught the onside kick just fine. Texas tech does it. Two unbeatens above us fall. My friends, happy saturday to you all.

Yeee!!! Red Raiders win! Yes!

Brilliant win, though Tuberville almost called his offense out of the game. Great first downs down the stretch when they needed it. The Red Raiders are starting to look like Oklahoma State lite.

It is still ridiculously premature to speculate on poll position, national championship game, etc.Â
Stanford has played 7 games. There are still 6 or 7 games remaining, depending on whether Stanford plays in the conference championship game. So we are only halfway through the season. Anything can happen during any given week, both to Stanford and to the other teams that are in the top 10. Last week the SI writers who cover college football predicted the teams in the NC game and other BCS games. 8 out of 8 chose OU. 8 out of 8 predicted Wisconsin to win the Big 10 and play in the Rose Bowl. 8 of 8 had West Virginia winning the Big East. Those predictions still might come true, but my point is that it is a pointless exercise to speculate on end results with so many games to be played. Too many variables.
Stanford has a big challenge this Saturday. USC's defense played Stanford as tough as anyone last year and they are coming off their best effort of the year, holding ND to 41 yards rushing and only 267 total yards. The game is likely to be as close as any Stanford has played since last year's USC game.
You might find it instructive (as I did) to review all of Stanford's offense vs. USC's defense from 2010 -

True, Stanford has to first and foremost take care of business (every game matters)...but surely some of Spiny Norman's pooh-poohing is due to the Red Raiders' wrecking shop in Norman, OK. Sorry Spiny...it was for the good of the Cardinal that I rooted for the Raiders.

FM, so now will you root for the Sooners to take down K-State and the Cowpokies?
Re: Stars Aligning? -

Absolutely. Especially Oklahoma State.

During the BCS selection show going on right now, they showed a montage of teams who are possible contenders: Sooner, Bama, LSU, K-State, Arkansas, Clemson, Boise State. No Stanford.
