MBB: Stanford 91 UW 75 in Santa Cruz Thurdsay 1/7 - JJJ - 01-07-2021

Who are the #roaddawgs in this one?
I hope our backcourt heals quickly and that O’Connell keeps building his resume for frosh of the week.

Has there been an injury update on Davis & Wills?

Nothing public since the game (though some of the insiders here may know more).

Abeytia says we won't hear until tonight: https://247sports.com/college/stanford/Article/Stanford-Cardinal-Vs-Washington-Huskies-Game-Preview--158765057/

Colorado knocked off Oregon this afternoon. Stanford with a win can move into a tie for 2nd in the conference or even 1st depending on the outcome of the UCLA-ASU game.

The opponent this evening Washington is winless in the conference at 0-3 and is only 1-7 on the season. But they did take Oregon down to the wire in mid-December. You can't take any opponent for granted when you are Stanford.

Colorado is a good team, but when you give them the 'of enormous proportions' elevation advantage, they can beat anyone.  We play at the mountain schools next week.

On a related note, adding two mountain teams to a conference of lowlanders was stupid.

If you don't have FS1 or FS2 (where the game is starting), you can get an hour free at https://www.foxsports.com/live/fs2

They said we’ll have Davis (lower leg) back before Wills (knee).  Angel and O’Connell growing up quickly.

Offensive stagnation by both teams, but our defense has them jacking up prayer 3's most of the time.

Upsides: We'll see a LOT of frosh out there. Should be fun and will bode well for the future.

Downsides: Kisunas is a nothingburger. Delaire picked up 2 quick fouls.

8-0 run, the last three buckets on tip-ins.  You don't love seeing us miss bunnies, but good on the team for following the play.

Exciting to see all 5 freshmen log significant minutes already.

Merrell has played well.

BC

Washington coach pulling down his mask to yell at his players kind of defeats the purpose.

Oregon is lifetime oh-for-Colorado.  They've never won in Boulder.

Kisunas seems to have regressed from last year. I hope he at least gets his mojo back. The frosh are going to take away his PT.

RE: MBB: Stanford “hosts” UW in Santa Cruz today at 6pm (FS1) - BostonCard - 01-07-2021

Sheesh, we hold them to 21 points in the first half, and only 8 minutes into the second half, they have 25 in the half.

BC

Williams has a double double and three assists away from a triple double.
