Wills still out.  Jones out, too, ouch.

Hip injury for Spencer Jones.  Hope it’s not serious.

Stanford taking mostly 3 point shots so far, none of which have fallen yet. Tough to see where the points will come from if Stanford cannot make jump shots. They continue to be offensively challenged.

Wow after the first TO 4 minutes in, Da Silva and Da Frosh. Ziaire, Taitz, Angel, and O’Connell

Must be to battle the altitude? Hope it pays off!

Will we have a DaSilva vs. DaSilva sighting?

Or will Oscar get run over again to ensure a Buffalos win?

RE: MBB @ Colorado, 12pm Saturday, Pac-12 network - JJJ - 01-16-2021

9-8 CO about 10 minutes in. We’ve had at least 2 charging fouls. Their defenders’ arms seem to be everywhere and we’re having trouble driving.

As I type, Murrell drives and 1.

All sorts of subplots: Da Silva vs Da Silva, Da Silva vs Battey...

Now 4 charging fouls on us. But we’re hanging with them basket for basket.

A late 1st half surge is increasing their lead. We need to end the half with a 5 point difference or less.

RE: MBB @ Colorado, 12pm Saturday, Pac-12 network - JJJ - 01-16-2021

Clean block on an Angel dunk attempt followed by a trey the other way...5 pt swing. Beautiful shot-clock beating bomb from way deep by Ziaire earlier pulled us within 3...

11-0 Colorado run to end the half. We trail by 14. I've seen this movie before many times. The lead is now too big to dig out of it.

We don't close 1st halves very well.

RE: MBB @ Colorado, 12pm Saturday, Pac-12 network - Maple Leaf - 01-16-2021

Was there any mutual interest between Tristan Da Silva and Stanford?

Everything was going their way and nothing was going ours. Could’ve used Wills and Jones during that stretch.

I'm pretty sick and tired of inconsistent charging foul calls in the Pac-12, most going against Stanford.  That call on Davis was unbelievable.

Hard to be a team that can hit eight 3s in a half.  We also had 2 assists to their 11 in the 1st.  We're not playing our offensive system.  Too many guys trying to score on their own.

RE: MBB @ Colorado, 12pm Saturday, Pac-12 network - JJJ - 01-16-2021

At least we went on a 6-0 run in 2H. We need more. Too many one-and-done possessions and too many 3s attempted from a standstill, in my opinion.

I think I’ve counted 3-4 intercepted bounce passes.

Refs are calling nothing inside.  How are you supposed to go from a game like the Utah one where everything was a foul to this?

RE: MBB @ Colorado, 12pm Saturday, Pac-12 network - Spiny_Norman - 01-16-2021

Stanford is trying to play hard, but Colorado just looks like a better team. They are getting contributions from up and down their roster. For Stanford, it's been a 2 man show between Da Silva and Williams. And Williams has 6 TOs to go with his points and boards.

I guess the only good thing coming out of this game is that Oscar got a double double with 20+ points.  Keeps him in the hunt for POY.  We need Wills and Jones back to win games like this.

Only five of our players scored any points.

Consistent with only 7 assists on the night.  Our offense never got in rhythm.

Good (imo) in depth write up (non-paywalled) by RJ Abeytia.

If they don't make the NCAA's will Haase be canned? I don't watch many games so just asking.
