New Football 2021 Spring Roster - Maple Leaf - 01-24-2021
2021 Football Roster - Stanford University Athletics (gostanford.com)
Roster reflects those players who have both declared for the NFL draft including Phogge and those coming back for a 99th year including Bobk. St. Brown (WR) is not listed on the roster. Roster does not include the two 2021 recruits who will be enrolling early.

Glad to see Wilson is on the roster as I hadn't previously seen confirmation of that and when he went down with an injury in the fall, Shaw was quoted as saying he hopes that he returns for his senior year which implied that he was contemplating declaring. He was WR1 ahead of Fehoko when he was healthy. He is super important for next year sans Fehoko, OSB and Weddington. I expect Humphreys will have a better year so we should have a solid but not explosive group with Wilson, Tremayne, Higgins, Humphreys as the primary four and hopefully at least one of Bowman, Starr, Graham, Farrel will bust out. Not sure who our deep threat speed burner is. Alabama and USC showed how much of your offense can be driven by having two explosive WRs. That won't be us, but we shoud be solid at the position.

OSB must be transferring. Can’t see him getting drafted. Stanford got the #3 of three.

Forget all the analysis. I am just hopeful of seeing a season with a full schedule, fans in the stadiums and no worries from week to week about COVID testing.

This. The offense is losing some, but at least has players that ought to be able to score some points. The defense, on the other hand, may not even have enough bodies at key positions. A lot will depend on the health of our inside linebackers, something we have not been able to count on to date.

Inside Linebacker Disease has infected the program. It can be battled by physical training, scientific research and possible animal testing by the Nobel-conscious at Stanford Med, old fashioned good luck and intense recruiting of 2022 and future prospects by a reinvigorated(please God) staff.
Non-vivisection, of course.

I think we should be greatly improved but that assumes people come back from injury and we don't lose people to injury.
The defense loses Robinson, Schaffer and Antoine.
Additions: should get back Miezan, Magnum-Farrar, Sinclair, Pakola, Kaufusi, Bonner, Umerah. Plus incoming frosh like Armitage and redshirt frosh like Phillips benefiting from a year of strength training.

I suppose it depends on your perspective. There is more room for the offense to fall off (it was a top-25 offense in 2020), while there is much more room for the defense to improve (it was ranked ~100 in 2020). But on an absolute scale, the offense is likely to be better than the defense. The offense likely will drop off some, and the defense may improve, especially if previously injured players come back, but I doubt that the defense will rank higher than the offense next year. I see us having an offense that is better than the median FBS team, and a defense that is worse than the median FBS team.
