RE: Stanford Track & Field: The Big Meet - Phogge - 04-27-2021

Dope sheets are what we filled out when shooting newsFILM many years ago. Gave the editors an idea of what was in the can while the film was being souped (processed).

Bobbbbbb, did you go to the great Big Meet at Edwards in the Sixties when Siebert beat Cunliffe and Cal won by a couple of points?

RE: Stanford Track & Field: The Big Meet - BobK - 04-27-2021

Not 68-69 but other years yes. But Cunliffe vs Siebert maybe not when like 61?

RE: Stanford Track & Field: The Big Meet - Phogge - 04-27-2021

I guess '61. Stanford dominated for years after that including the next year when rain cost Stanford a chance to break USC's hundred plus win streak. I was there but can't remember if Cunliffe ran in the Russian meet at Stanford. An unbelievable two days. I spent the days loading magazines in the infield, at times sitting next to the Press sisters. They both needed a shave.

RE: Stanford Track & Field: The Big Meet - BobK - 04-27-2021

Actually the usc meet was moved to Foothill and their all weather track. I was at Stanford then at Foothill. Our best Triple Jumper and High Jumper thought the meet was canceled so went to Santa Rosa to a bridge tournament and missed the meet. If they were present Stanford would have won

TJer is in this board. :). Hi there

Thanks, Bob

We still lack enough talent in the sprints, hurdles and field events. With no 5,000 or 10,000 a lot of our points don't get to compete for the men.

The 3K has been replacing the 5K last 10 or so years.
Our top sprinter hasn’t run. Maybe he will
I understand a really top sprinter has signed this month
