A bummer for her that she didn't get a chance to announce it on her own terms, but still, exciting times! So many options for a starting lineup:
Figure Wilson, Lexie Hull, Jones and Brink are definitely going to be starters. Then you can pick:
A true point guard (Jenna Brown or Jana Van Gytenbeek)
A shooter (Hannah Jump or Lacie Hull)
Go big (Ashton Prechtel, who also is a shooter)
Wilson Williams will be missed, of course, but next year's team is going to be "lit" as the kids say.

Do you mean Williams will be missed?

Yes of course. Thanks for catching that.

Hope to hear it from Wilson's own words soon. Hard lesson to learn: the media isn't your friend, and they might not respect your wishes even if you do make them clear.

Wait, I'm confused. Wasn't this already known since last week? In the WBB/MBB zoom thread?

No need to go too far. Just click on the tweet above to hear Wilson say she's coming back for a 6th year.

Before I even saw this thread I was drinking my morning coffee and thinking about a pick-up game of BB I played over the weekend. I saw a guy make a move to the basket from the elbow and it reminded me of a move I saw Wilson make in a game last season. It left the defender twisted up and falling backwards as she glided in for a perfect layup. I started thinking about how Wilson will do next season. I went to my computer with the intention of posting my thoughts about Wilson next season and discovered this thread about her.
I think she has a lot more offense in her than she showed last season. She played in the shadow of Williams and accepted that role. She rarely asserted herself on offense. However, when she did we saw moves and shots that gave us glimpses of her offensive talent. I can see her having a breakout season coming back.

My hope for her is that she boosts her offense to match her great defense. She clearly has the offensive skills. She is a very, very good shooter. She doesn't drive much but when she does, she looks good doing it. She has untapped potential still. If she can keep up the fabulous defense and add offense, say 10 ppg or more, which I think she could easily do if she looked for her offense and more schemes were for her, I think she could be an efficient scorer. And if she does that, maybe she gets a shot at the pros, maybe.

Yeeess....looking forward to this so much. I feel like we finally saw her "freshman" year and we'll finally get to see what happens when she becomes a "sophomore."

I still recall watching a motionless Anna lying on the floor at the U of Hawaii Thanksgiving Tournament for twenty minutes, not knowing if she would ever walk again, let alone play again. They took her away in an ambulance, but she showed up at the hotel that night, bent, but not broken.
The fact that she went on to finish that season, return for another, and to be a starting guard for the Cardinal in their victorious NCAA National Title this year, speaks volumes for her determination, grit, and skill! I am so happy for her and couldn’t be more excited about seeing her and the team in the coming year!
Welcome back home Anna, and best wishes for a stellar year!

I am so happy, although as others have remarked this was old news. And as others have already said well, Wilson has the potential to greatly advance her offensive game. The big question to me is whether she will play point or not. Perhaps she will stay in her current position--adding more offense may be enough of an adjustment.
Wilson has always been potentially good offensively. In her sophomore year she was 7/8 from three point range against Ohio State. But the rest of the season she hit only 13 more treys, doomed by a sinking percentage and nagging injuries. And this season there were several times when she drove on the basket quite successfully--she did not do it often, but I don't remember many misses from in close.
So, the question is whether she can shoot treys and drive much more consistently than she has done up to now. She will certainly get the opportunity to do so.
I also think that everyone not named Jones or Brink is going to have to adjust to their development. Brink is so good that I wonder whether Tara would go back to the triangle to feed her the ball down low much more often. If so, then there may not be as much of a need for Wilson to pick up the scoring previously contributed by Williams.
Shaping the team is a fluid thing every year, and that is one of Tara's strengths, working and reworking with the talent she has at any given moment. Any way you look at it, this is a marvelous development and gives us a better chance of repeating than we otherwise would have.

My mind went to Michael Wilson, who had an impressive year.

Both Wilsons are coming back. Note to coaches: Be sure to recruit more students named Wilson.

I'm glad to see my prediction about Anna is coming true.

I think Wilson is the ultimate team player, the one who makes sure everyone else is operating at their peak performance. I would be legitimately curious as to how everyone else on the team does statistically when Wilson is in the game versus when they are not playing alongside her.

Great question. Where can we find the season +/- for college WBB players?

Season +/- stats are here (probably need to adjust them to a per minute basis to make them more meaningful):
