Track & Field - BobK - 06-03-2021

The meet in Eugene starts next weds for 4 days
I’ll be posting each of the 8 Stanford athletes and will start with Javelin thrower Virginia Miller. Miller has the 17th best throw 171-9 10 feet behind # 6
She’s a Sr. Her Dad at one time was the national HS record holder

I just cancelled my hotel. Very slim chance I could get a ticket with friends and family first in line at about 25% capacity

Here is the schedule

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-04-2021

A recruiting add. Signee John Lester from the east bay ran 1:47.65 the other day. That’s # 3 all time I believe

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-04-2021

Alexa Rossum is a soph who will be in both the 100 and 200
100 11.29 # 4 all time at Stanford #18 in the field

200 22.96. # 2 all time at Stanford # 17 in the field

However an improvement of .1 to .15 would put her on the verge of placing

I believe those were both PB's for Rossum at the regional meet. It seems that most of our female sprinters get to Stanford and then underperform their freshman year. This is an example of a freshman adapting well to college track.

Ella Donaghu is a 5th year Sr. Entered in both the 1500 and 5K Her bests are 4:11.70 and this year 4:13.54 and 15:29.42 in the 5K. She is 8th all time in the 1500 and 8th all time at Stanford in the 5K.

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-10-2021

Donaghu and Aragon 1-4 in their heat to move to the Finals. Heymach and the other two Stanford runners all in the same heat
Heymach 10 meters from qualifying trips and falls.

The 1500 heat

RE: Track & Field - triangle2 - 06-10-2021

Bob - I see the 1500 results are under protest. Was Heymach tripped?

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-10-2021

Rossum didn’t qualify in the 100

RE: Track & Field - mbdude - 06-10-2021

Replay showed Heymachs spikes caught in turf, not tripped
I wasnt aware of protest

RE: Track & Field - BobK - 06-10-2021

I didn’t think tripped with the head on view nor did Dwight Stones the announcer
But still a protest about an hour later

Virginia Miller with a PR in the javelin now 4th all time 176-2.

Another PR 178-9
