This may be behind the 'paywall'.  I have a subscription, which I got at a four month teaser rate of $4 plus change.  Well worth it.

Excellent article.  One southern cal high school coach nailed the issues that Stanford faces in terms of academics but also identified the lack of early enrollees until this year as a real challange.

One of the questions asked was which assistant coaches were the most impressive on the recruiting trail, and the ten coaches who answered collectively listed dozens of different names but not a single one from Stanford.

Funny, I focused most on the "Pac-12 teams aren't cheating enough to win" comment.

That's because those recruiters can recruit whomever they want, and probably come to that high school constantly. These coaches likely don't see Stanford every year, and if they do it's about one guy.

I also focused way more on this. ASU tried, though.
