John Lynch was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Sort of shocked nobody pointed it out or linked a story about it. Now four former Stanford players in Pro Football Hall of Fame.
1. Nevers
2. Lofton
3. Elway
4. Lynch
Andrew Luck was likely on his way until injuries forced him out of the game. Who might be next?

Sherman and DeCastro seem like good candidates. It appears the latter will be eligible first.

Two former Vikings; Jeff Seamen (sp) and Darin Nelson, both had long productive careers other possibilities are Gene Washington and George Buehler (sp) plus John Brodie

This year's expanded centennial class was the last realistic chance for old timers. Among the more recent players Sherman definitely has a chance and McCaffrey potentially. Surprised you didn't mention Plunkett, although he is also a longshot.

I think Sherman is a lock.
Ertz needs two more really good years.
Not sure if DeCastro will get in.
C-Mac is hard to parse for me. I think he has a realistic shot? Not sure.

DeCastro: 10 years, 124 starts; 2× First-team All-Pro (2015, 2017); Second-team All-Pro (2016); 6× Pro Bowl (2015–2020)
Ertz: 8 years, 82 starts; 3× Pro Bowl (2017–2019), NFL Record most receptions in a season by a tight end (116) (also SuperBowl champion); 561 receptions, 6,078 Receiving yards, 36 receiving touchdowns
Sherman: 10 years, 133 startsl 3× First-team All-Pro (2012–2014), 2× Second-team All-Pro (2015, 2019), 5× Pro Bowl (2013–2016, 2019),
NFL interceptions leader (2013), Steve Largent Award (2015), NFL 2010s All-Decade Team; 36 interceptions, 115 Passes defended
Other than bias against offensive linemen, the order should be Sherman > DeCastro > Ertz
McCaffrey needs a few more years before we can decide

Al Davis lobbied for years for Stabler and Plunkett. The Snake got in but I doubt Plunk will.

He lobbied hard for Cliff Branch too, whose best chance was also this expanded centennial class.

While listening to a Lynch interview earlier this week, I learned that he was the 2nd ever pick of the Marlins and that he was likely headed to a baseball career until Bill Walsh entered his life and convinced him to commit to being a DB.

This is pretty incredible:

Lynch threw the first pitch for the then nascent Marlins organization. I think the ball is in the Hall of Fame.

It's way too early to say, but before all is said and done, we might see a completely different Stanford great play the longest and earn the most All Pro selections...
This guy only put the ball in the end zone 5 times last year (and his coaches were delighted).
He scores no points, except hypothetically for the other team.
He makes almost no tackles, only as a last resort.
First Team All Pro in 2020.
On 31 of 55 touches last season, he gave the ball away within the opponent's 20 yard line (and again, his coaches applauded).
49 yard average.
46 yard net average.
71 yard long (84 yards at Stanford!)
The incomparable Jake Bailey!
