So, get this. Irwin made the Bengals' initial 53-man roster for the first time (although he does have 1 regular season catch from Week 16 last year). Then, he was waived a few days later because the team needed defensive reinforcements. He cleared waivers and was signed to the Bengals' practice squad.
Such is life in the crazy, competitive world of the NFL.
