Yes I got a call and an email with a direct link to my tickets plus instructions on how to use Apple Wallet.
They’re really trying to simplify it for the digitally-challenged, although I think they could have provided better directions for Android phones.

This first game will be tough.
We have COVID-19 protocols.
We have new digital tickets.
And we have a fairly high profile opponent.
I suspect those that stroll up to the gate 5 minutes before kick should pretty much count on missing most of the first quarter.

I haven't seen an actual kick-off time posted, so I suspect if people think the kickoff is 3pm there will be some built-in cushion.

We are planning to arrive about an hour earlier than we would otherwise to tailgate, so that we can walk from our car to get our wristbands, and also to allow for extra time in getting into the stadium. With fewer gates to go into, and the new system, it's gonna take a while. It was already slow pre-COVID with the metal detectors.
Will see how it goes, but given that Stanford has had a LONG time to plan for today, it looks like they aren't near ready and really haven't thought this through very well. There should be at least twice as many locations for wristbands, and some of them should be in the parking lots. There should be MORE gates open, not fewer, with a new ticketing system. I'm not expecting good outcomes

I was by the stadium on my bike ~10:30am
down by where we tailgate (near gate 10) there is
- a proof of vaccination/negative test station with a small maze to enter it. There was another one near gate 9.
- outside gate 10, on the newly paved over area, they have set up 12 metal detectors (there are outside of the perimeter fence around the stadium) so you go through these then show your ticket to enter the stadium
- there appear to be the same number of entry gates at gate 10 as previously

Proof of vaccination line was long but moved. I got there an hour early, just in case, and it took about 15 min to get through.

We had no wait to get our wristbands but we were there before 1p. When we went back for kickoff the line was unreal. There were only FOUR people who had to check photo ID and proof of vax/test. Unbelievable how poorly understaffed that is. Should have been at least twice as many there
Entry gate 10 wasn’t as bad but the “automated” ticket readers are slow and more than half the doors were closed
The WiFi seems at least as bad as two years ago. New & improved my @$$
Stanford needs to get its $&@( together. These issues were easily avoidable

vax check line was not bad at the Gate 10 station at 12:45pm, just before kickoff it was very long
interestingly enough we did see a UCLA fan in our section with no vax check wristband.
entry at Gate 10 a little before 3pm not too bad, but half of the metal detectors were unstaffed which was the bottleneck
ticket scanning (both parking pass and game ticket) was fine.
scanning out at halftime gave a "already used" or something similar, re-entry gave same message but ticket taker waved us in
excluding students (who showed up in large numbers) I'd guess there were <10k people in the stands at kick-off. Maybe 20K inside at the peak (this based on my assumption that the shady side was better attended than the sunny side where we sit).
very few in the stadium wore masks (at least near us), masks were optional for vaccinated, encouraged for all, and required for unvaccinated.
and the piped in music is even louder this year......

Also important to not this wasn’t a big crowd and they still had this many issues. Can only imagine how frightfully bad it would have been with 40,000+

Somehow I don’t think we will have to worry about a large crowd, unless Notre Dame is playing for the college football playoff or something.

I got to the stadium about 2pm, saw the crazy line to get wristbands, then walked entirely around the stadium only to end up back in the same line because it was shorter.
About 2:45pm a woman holding a stack of wristbands walked down the line quickly checking vax cards and handing them out. Got into the stadium about 3:10 during the first possession.
Also new this year in the stadium: ordering food on electronic tablets rather than talking to people. I’d say it was a slight speedup. It wasn’t obvious where to enter my number to get the season ticket holder discount; I had to watch a video to figure it out.
