Other Football Games (week 4) - martyup - 09-24-2021
Excellent game last night between App State and Marshall.
Fresno state is trailing the 0-3 Running Rebels early.
Bulldogs are now down 14-3 halfway through the 2nd Q. Maybe UCLA isn't "all that."

Or maybe Fresno State QB is not quite 100%.
Or maybe UCLA isn't all that.
Regardless, it's not beneficial to Oregon, UCLA, or the Pac 12.

Georgia led Vandy 21-0 (137-5) with over 7 mins 35-0 (208-13) with over 3 mins left in first quarter, off 2 Vandy turnovers.
Stanford sure did soften the Commodores up for the Bulldogs!

On CGD, 3 out of 4 picked Stanford to beat the Bruins. Herbstreet was the only one to pick the Bruins.

I had read “third quarter” and thought “not that bad”. First quarter = “yikes”! Vandy opens the second quarter missing a field goal.

Georgia allowed Vandy 54 yards, 3 first downs and 0 points through three quarters.
Stanford gave up 400 yards and 23 first downs and 23 points to them through four quarters (though it really should have been 17 with that stupid last play of game TD that didn't even warrant an XP being tried).
Vandy might need to double that Athletic Excellence fund.

Were they aware of the unavailability of our starting FS, CB, TE, and 3 of our top 4 RBs?
I would be feeling more optimistic if we had all of our weapons. The offensive playbook's creativity had a lot to do with Filkins and Smith. And our pass defense had a lot to do with Williams and Manley.
Of course, I am still picking us...

UDFG is in a slugfest with the Badgers. 4th Q and WI just went ahead 13-10. Neither QB looks good. As I'm typing this, ND returns the kickoff for 98 yards and a TD. Wow!

Just watched the Missouri kicker nail a 56 yard field goal as time expired to send the game against Bc to overtime.

Yeah, if you look at Vandy as an FCS team playing in the SEC then our win isn’t very impressive.

Notre Dame won 41-13, scoring 31 points in the fourth quarter on two pick sixes and a kick-off return for a TD.
They only had 242 yards of total offense, so this is one of the more lopsided points per yard I’ve seen.

Saw guy score TD in Iowa game. Spun the ball. Unsportsmanlike call. What an absurd rule. I get it if it’s a non-TD play. Delay of game. But for that to constitute an unsportsmanlike on a TD is ridiculous.
