Man, what is going on with USC! Losing to San Francisco 63-78 at home is a shocker.  This is the same USF team
that was routed at home by Cal 41-70 a few weeks ago!

On the other hand, several freshmen are showing great promise for their respective PAC 12 teams:

Top Freshman (from the Class of 2021) Scorers in the PAC 12 (from the List of PAC 12 Top 50 Scorers):
***********************************************************************************
1)   Jada CURRY                      5'6     G     Cal      19.9 ppg
5)   Talia VON OELHOFFEN   5'11   G     OSU     15.8 ppg                #25 - ESPN Hoopgurlz
17)  Jenna JOHNSON              6'2     F     Utah    12.6 ppg                #42 - ESPN Hoopgurlz
25)  Gianna KNEEPKENS        5'11   G    Utah     10.6 ppg                #73 - Prospect Nation
27)  Raya MARSHALL              6'5     F     USC     10.0 ppg                #27 - ESPN Hoopgurlz
41)  AJ MAROTTE                    6'0     G     OSU      8.2 ppg                #63 - ESPN Hoopgurlz
48)  Greta KAMPSHROEDER   6'0     G    OSU      7.3 ppg                 #32 - ESPN Hoopgurlz

And Stanford's Brooke DEMETRE (#11 - ESPN Hoopgurlz) and Kiki IRAFEN (#19 - ESPN Hoopgurlz),
the top 2 PAC 12 recruits from the Class of 2021, are not even in that list, so far,
since they are seldomly used reserves for the upperclassman-heavy defending national champions.

I can't wait for next year's PAC 12 freshman class (Class of 2022), which promises to be the best ever....

RE: WBB: Pac 12: Results of the Week - M T - 12-09-2021

I always suggest using points/40 minutes so the numbers aren't so dependent on playing time.
PPG is pretty meaningless without playing time.  One shouldn't compare PPG between players
(same or different teams) or for a player in different years.

Even points/40 minutes is influenced by the particular opponents or game situations.
And, of course, this only rates their scoring contribution, not play-making, rebounding, or defense

----
I guess UCLA has only 8 players this year.  They only played 8 players in a 112-33 rout.  (27-0 2nd quarter)
UCLA's two high scorers played 32 and 35 minutes each, and were playing as the buzzer sounded.
(And, no one fouled out so there were 3 subs on the bench.)

Well, at least none of them went down in a heap near the end of the game.

I hope someone asked Cori Close what she thought about the injury to Paige Bueckers in the last minute with an 18-point lead.

RE: WBB: Pac 12: Results of the Week - BobK - 12-09-2021

UCLA has 6 players out with injuries. One for the year two on crutches this week. I don’t know about the other three
