I'm going. Planning to stay at the Mandalay Bay Complex. We bought our game tix in Nov or whenever it was that they were first offered.

RE: WBB PAC-12 Tournament - BACardinal - 02-06-2022

Just checked and Mandalay Bay has no availability March 1-7.  I checked third party websites like Kayak and also the Mandalay Bay website.

Unfortunately he Michelob Ultra Area, where the games are being played, is pretty isolated and no other hotels are remotely close besides the Luxor which I've not liked in the past. MGM seems like the second best option but it's still a 20 minute walk to the arena.

I always enjoyed staying at the resort in which the games are being played so I can jaunt back to our room between sessions to get a rest and refuel for the next matchup we wanted to watch.

**I ended up booking at the Luxury Suites International At The Signature where we stayed a couple years ago when the games were played at the MGM I believe. I remember seeing Nicki Collen in the starbucks lobby every morning when she was the head coach of the Atlanta Dream.

RE: WBB PAC-12 Tournament - BobK - 02-06-2022

I’m staying at Mandalay made my reservation several months ago.
But the ticket office told me tix aren’t for sale yet. Maybe only for the Stanford section?? WBB fan were your tix through Stanford ?

Spike - Spike - 02-06-2022

FYI everybody, I made reservations at Mandalay Bay just yesterday.
Check to be sure Mandalay is booked.

We got the tix in Nov after receiving an email from the tournament ticket agent. They aren't in the Stanford section as such, but are in very good location. Same agent we've purchased tournament tix from in past years. We have 10 in all, together. As of now, we think that 6 in addition to our two are spoken for by the group we go to the tournament with, leaving two available. We're checking with the 6 friends this week at the OSU game, will be able to say how many extras we might have.

As for place to stay, keep in mind that there's a Four Seasons hotel attached to the Mandalay Bay, very nice place to stay, no-smoking policy for entire hotel. We stayed there in 2020. We're going to be trying to get a room there, working on it tonight.

Thanks for the info. If you end up with an extra ticket give me a holler

Will do. It's probable that we'll have two extra. The question is how many more.

Baez87 - Baez87 - 02-06-2022

The wife and I are booked in at the Mandalay Bay. We don't have tickets yet (anyone with two extra tickets to sell, please let us know). Looking forward to the trip. We are on kind of a run, having most recently gone to Victoria, San Antonio, the Bahamas, and now Las Vegas (and many past Final Fours).
It’s been a fun run!

Spike - Spike - 02-07-2022

I’m guessing that with a capacity of over 10,000
spectators, getting tickets won’t be a problem.

Seating is not usually an issue, we just want to sit amongst fellow Stanford fans so our voices are not lost in the crowd.

Tip: the Four Seasons occupies two upper floors in the Mandalay Bay. Might give them a try.

The Four Seasons is a great option (stayed there in 2020), but when we went to get reservations there a couple of nights ago, they had no rooms available for Saturday night. We've booked the Four Seasons for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday -- then have booked rooms at the Bellagio for Saturday and Sunday. It's walkable, if you're a walker, from the Mandalay Bay.

Mudhead - Mudhead - 02-09-2022

Query?  I assume Stanford finishes regular season as #1 seed for tournament. Further Oregon and Arizona are the #2 and #3 sees and I don’t care which.  If the seeds hold, Stanford plays #4 in Semis while #2 and #3 duke it out.

Who will be number four seed?  Oregon State Almost sure to get three more losses. UCLAand Utah likely to have 7 losses. (I think Utah has best chance of only six losses). Arizona may have 6 losses but they have played so few games , it’s hard for them To get a winning win/loss percentage.

The tie breakers get incredibly confusing when you get down the ladder.

What say the wise cardboarders ?  I say Utah but with a very low level of confidence in my prediction.

RE: WBB PAC-12 Tournament - 81alum - 02-09-2022

Currently, on the basis of today's standings, and if the seeds all held true, this would be our tournament schedule:

1st round bye
2nd round winner of Oregon State vs Colorado
Semis winner of Utah vs. WSU
Finals winner of Oregon vs. Arizona

But today's standings are probably going to change a lot.  We are primarily interested in who winds up 4th and 8th, and both those slots are "fluid."

Although in flux, I would be much more concerned about facing either of the 2nd round winners than the Semis. (That said, for whatever reason Ruick and OSU have a long history of underperforming in the PAC-12 tournament - the only time he's won it was the same year they went to the Final Four.)
