Super Bowl Commercials - best one - Embo - 02-14-2022

I'm surprised no one brought this up.

My favorite had to the be Michelob Ultra spot, Welcome to Superior Bowl.  I knew this would be a keeper once the camera panned up from the person spraying the golf shoes, and it was ..... Steve Buscemi.  ("Shut the F up, Donnie!")  Great pick for the accompanying tune.
But the real reason this commercial was awesome?  ICYMI, to Payton Manning's left, is our own Nneka.
And strolling up near the end wearing the purple warmups with the red stripe down the side was not The Jesus, but another star.

I missed that one, definitely up there.

The Larry David ad was tops for me.

Saw that ad posted on another forum and loved it. Serena at the end was perfect.

Agree, Steve Buscemi was the perfect opener. And I thought Alex Morgan's soccer ball/bowling ball was cool too.

I wondered why Nneka didn't have a "basketball" bowling ball...

Was Manning's bowling ball Tennessee or Bronco orange?

Good call on the Big Lebowski commercial!  I watched a couple of times just to figure out who the athletes are before cheating.  Brooks Koepka is the one playing pool.  So well done.

My other favorite is the Soprano's / Silverado electric.  Hey, I think that's Meadow!  (Sunglasses).  No that is Meadow! (Lollipop.)  Wait, Meadow can't parallel park.....but a Silverado can!  Nice concluding hug with her screen brother. Seems so genuine. No copy until the end, just that iconic open and the Alabama 3. Turns out David Chase directed the commercial.  She opened the door just like the other Jimmy G. It was Silverado, right?  Who cares?  Sopranos!

All hail Phogge.  Nice spot on ESPN in the morning. Made me hop off the treadmill and listen, anyway.

I loved that there were not one but two commercials making fun of billionaires and their vanities, the Polestar 2 commercial taking a swipe at Elon Musk wanting to go to Mars bc the Salesforce ad poking fun at Zucker’s meta verse and Musk’s and Bezos’ obsession with space.

“space, the final frontier.  Meh.”

They ran the commercials on the big screens at So Fi. I sat and rested my legs during the breaks (standing at a tripod on concrete is tough for an old man). The only one I looked at was the animated Peyton Manning/Walter Payton. Looked great but impossible to hear anything because of the absolutely piss poor PA/sound effects in the stadium. Why do they crank the music so high that I'm sure people could hear it in Thousand Oaks.
