On her Twitter she mentions someone else at the Hartford Courant will be taking over the women's basketball beat so it appears the shift to ESPN is underway.

Then congrats and good for her

Ramona Shelburne, Chiney Ogumike, and now Ros Gold Unwude, are all on ESPN, primarily on hoops coverage.

Jessica Mendoza and Kyle Petersen and the Baseball/Softball coverage.

Stanford Steve also on there with Scott Van Pelt.

Maybe Richard Sherman next?

RE: OT: Stanford Grad joins ESPN - BobK - 02-21-2022

Rod Gilmore also

I enjoy it when Casey Jacobsen is on the mic. (I guess he's not on ESPN but I see him on P12N.)

We do too, JJ, and think Casey is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very well spoken. We think he's terrific.

I was thinking more of the on air analysts.

But Gilmore and Foudy also get involved in that, so shouldn't have left them out. Fleming is strictly play-by-play AFAIK.

John and Patrick McEnroe are both tennis analysts for ESPN.

I'm pretty sure John McEnroe never graduated.

All the better, we still get to claim him if we want. Graduates we have no choice.

Although he didn't graduate, he is considered an alum. So is Tiger Woods

If they are good, they are an alum. If they are not, they are not an alum. I'm not sure I like that distinction, but that seems to be the by-and-large truth of the matter.

Yes, I guess Ms. Holmes was an alum until she wasn't.

RE: OT: Stanford Grad joins ESPN - PVTree - 02-22-2022

One alum that seems to have come up short as an analyst is Toby. He was with the P12 network for a year as an in-studio analyst, and, unfortunately, he seemed very rigid, as if he had stage fright.

It didn't seem a good fit for him, and, since I didn't see him there this past year, others probably agreed also.

RE: OT: Stanford Grad joins ESPN - needle - 02-22-2022

Evan Moore, former Stanford WR, has done some work on TV as a CFB analyst (and not just for Stanford spring games).

Not sure if he's still doing it, though.

I thought "alum" was not defined as a graduate (much to my surprise); but rather, as one who attended the school.
So these all would be alums/alumni, whether we "like" them or not; however, not all would be graduates.

Is that right, or am I mis-remembering an earlier discussion here (and by earlier, I mean years and years ago).
