1970? - Phogge - 03-03-2022

Just paid attention to the right corner of the posts.

The Cardboard goes back to January 1970? Holy smoke! That must have been the CIA's super secret, double secret probation if you squealed clandestine site on the Univac.

Because engineers had to pick a t=0.

I think we switched software some years ago, and when we did so, everyone who was ported over was set to a start date of 1970.

Yes, the bogus dates aren't quite Unix time zero. I noticed that at the time but didn't look into where the conversion script went wrong. I don't think it was the most recent software change but the one before that, and I don't think I was an admin yet.

Unix time zero would be 12/31/69 4PM PST.  So the value there (5:33PM) is about 5550 to 5639 (taking into account possible rounding or truncation).  Nothing jumps out at me.  (I thought maybe it was going to be  ASCII characters interpreted as a number.)

I joined when I was 7, apparently.  I must've been pretty precocious.

At seven I thought that the Seals were gods and that owners owed something to someone.

RE: 1970? - terry - 03-04-2022

2. Leaving On A Jet Plane, Peter, Paul & Mary

3. Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head, B.J. Thomas

4. Down On The Corner/Fortunate Son, Creedence Clearwater Revival

5. Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye, Steam

6. Holly Holy, Neil Diamond

7. Come Together/Something, The Beatles

8. I Want You Back, Jackson 5

9. Whole Lotta Love, Led Zeppelin

10. Take A Letter Maria, R.B. Greaves

"Leaving on a jet plane." Basically I can sleep around willy nilly but I'm really there for you. Horseshit.

Well, there's always Take A Letter Maria.  When his wife is sleeping around, at least he gets to take up with his loyal secretary.  ;-)

Cheers,

Did all the users prior to the migration lose their post/thread count as well?  That seems to be my recollection lol.

The discussion around the 1971 Rose Bowl broke the internet...

Woody Hayes punched it after the game.

Jim Stillwagon crushed it after John Sande put him on his butt for the tenth time.
