17 straight wins - terry - 11-10-2011

Sometimes I can't believe how far this program has come. Five years ago this week, Stanford had a record of 0-9 and we were wondering about the future of the program. Now, we're 9-0 and heading into one of the biggest games we've ever played, with possible national championship implications. Wow.

One of the most amazing things about Stanford football right now is the 17 game winning streak. As has been noted repeatedly, the 17 game winning streak is a school record and the nation's longest current streak. Over the years, Stanford was known for pulling off the occasional big upset, but also for losing games it should have won against lesser opponents. Not now. Stanford has been a model of consistency, reeling off win after win, for 17 games in a row. Really amazing stuff, especially for long-time Stanford fans.
