MBB: stanford at ASU - JJJ - 03-05-2022

Yeah, I’m watching. Jones hitting some treys, just blocked a shot. We’re up 15-8.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - JJJ - 03-05-2022

ASU sped us up with their D and we’re up to 12 turnovers. 30-28.

32-30 lead at the half despite 13 turnovers.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - PVTree - 03-05-2022

Those dang turnovers costing us. A 2 point lead that could be double digits if the turnovers were cut in half. I'm hoping we come out determined in the second half and don't fold as has been the case in late-season games the past few years.

I was today years old when I learned that Ernie Kent was a Stanford assistant coach in 89-91.

So was Bruce Pearl, but you probably already knew that.

Yes, I knew that because I was there when he was waving towels on the sidelines in his shiny gray suit and red tie back in the day. He was always “enthusiastic”…

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - PVTree - 03-05-2022

Not a good start to the second half. We're already down 6 and have picked up too many fouls. We need to stay playing as we did at the start of the game.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - fullmetal - 03-05-2022

Up two points at the half, but in the first few minutes of the 2H, Stanford has been outscored by five.  11:57 left in the game.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - PVTree - 03-05-2022

Down 2 with less than 7 minutes to go. We're still in the game with a chance to win. Can we play good defense and have just enough offense to win?

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - JJJ - 03-05-2022

I’m wearing my #23 jersey and Angel gives us a lead

We were in it until about 4 minutes left.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - PVTree - 03-05-2022

From a tied game to trailing by 6 with 3:31 to go. Delaire missing two free throws. Do we have a prime time player that can carry the team in the late stretches of a game? Apparently not.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - BobK - 03-05-2022

Stanford outscored 13-2 last 5 minutes. Yep same ole same ole

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - JohnR34231 - 03-05-2022

Yep, we end up losing of course.
I'm sure that doesn't shock anyone.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - PVTree - 03-05-2022

65-56 loss. Unfortunately, this was expected as we continue to be a terrible February-March team.

We end up ninth in the conference... Meeting expectations from the preseason polls.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - old spanish trail - 03-05-2022

Watched the dang thing. Why? Don't really know. I could have predicted the finish. So, who should be getting the most minutes now...in general?

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - chrisk - 03-05-2022

2 teams going in opposite directions to end the last month of the season.

Rematch in 4 days?

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - CompSci87 - 03-05-2022

They kept it just close enough to keep me from turning it off, even though I was sure they'd fall short in the end. Sigh.

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - winflop - 03-05-2022

So who are we going to lose to in the first round of the conference tourney?

RE: MBB: stanford at ASU - burger - 03-05-2022

I missed the game today thankfully.  Hopefully that was Haase's last regular-season game.  But I have zero confidence that Muir will do the right thing.

Arizona State at the moment.  UW is 0.5 games ahead of them and has OSU at home tonight.  Not sure who has the tiebreaker between ASU and UW.
