NC State-UConn - teejers1 - 03-28-2022

The best women's game I've seen in like . . . ever.

Sorry, just felt this game deserved its own thread.  My goodness.  The guard play on each side is sensational.

Geez I turned the game off in the first quarter because it looked like UConn would win by a big margin. So who won?

And it's UConn in 2OT.  Incredible game.
I suspect Vegas will favor UConn - Bueckers and Fudd are going to be a handful . . . to put it mildly.

RE: NC State-UConn - Sakibomb25 - 03-28-2022

Bueckers was unreal. She came to play. The combo of her and Fudd are the reason why I didn't want to face UConn. I can see the two of them getting Wilson and the Hulls into foul trouble...

The interesting thing is I don't know why NC State didn't try to pound the ball more into Caunane to get Edwards or Nelson-Ododa out of the game more. I thought that was a big miscue on NC State's part.

However, give it up to Bueckers - she played amazingly well.

Bueckers midrange jumpers were a thing of beauty, especially in the 2 OT periods. She will be hard to stop.

Well, the national media gets the game they wanted. Tara vs Gino.

As far as UConn or NCST, it shouldn't matter. If you want to be national champion you need to beat whoever is in front of you.

Agree that you have to beat whoever is in front of you. However, UConn scares me a whole helluva lot more than NC State does.

Yes it’s a major challenge to slow down UConn’s potent offense. I would think UConn would feel the exact same about us. We are deeper and equally talented and UConn is no longer playing in their home state. They are not a team that pressures and turns you over too much. I think stylistically we match up well. I’m expecting a really close game.

The NCS UConn game was superb.  I've started the Stanford UConn thread for those who talk about how we will match up.

RE: NC State-UConn - Softball Fan - 03-28-2022

If both teams are making their shots, the Stanford/UConn game has the potential to be a thing of beauty as opposed to a physical affair.  Things never turn out the way you hope, but the possibility does exist for some high-level offensive play-making by both teams.

RE: NC State-UConn - treetop11 - 03-29-2022

Very interesting game to watch, but a hyperbole to call it best ever - I've seen many other great or greater games.

NC State is a funny team. They shoot themselves in the foot time after time, but then they can rally.

I have called CT the sleeper in the tourney for a while as they have talent and depth (although they lost a really good post player tonight). However, we are really talented too and deeper. I don't like that it's a homecoming for Bueckers, like it was for Kianna and now the Hulls. But it's time to break that cycle and see the Bueckers homecoming fans go home disappointed.

I want to see our women go into the FF with high confidence and intensity and just shoot the lights out against CT and play great defense.
