Five current and one future Stanford golfer are among the 72 players competing in the 3rd annual Augusta National Women's Amateur. All 72 players will play at Champion's Retreat Wednesday & Thursday, as well as a practice round at Augusta National on Friday. The field will be cut to the top 30 players (with a playoff deciding any ties) who will play Augusta National in Saturday's Final Round. Stanford players' Wednesday tee times (EDT):
Rachel Heck 8:54a
Megha Ganne 9:30a*
Angelina (Lei) Ye 9:42a*
Rose Zhang 9:54a
Caroline Sturdza 10:18a
Aline Krauter 10:30a
* indicates 10th tee start
Ganne, Heck, Ye, and Zhang all played last year. Sturdza, and Krauter are playing for the first time. Last year Heck and Zhang both finished one shot behind the winner, Ye fiinished T15, and Ganne missed the cut.
Brooke Seay was also invited to ANWA but is instead playing in the LPGA Chevron Championship (one of the LPGA majors). Congrats to her on getting the invitation!

Here are the scores after the first day (top 30 make the cut):

T9 Ye +1
T9 Ganne +1
T24 Krauter +2
------------------
T39 Zhang +4
T70 Sturdza +9
Leader is -2.

After Day 1 at Champions Retreat, four of the six Cardinal women overall look to be well-positioned to make the cut after tomorrow's round. Zhang has her work cut out for her, and Sturdza will need shoot lights out.
I think it's great that whether or not they make the cut, they do get to play Augusta National on Friday. For those who make the cut it's a practice round.
T9. Heck +1
T9. Ganne +1
T9. Ye +1
T24. Krauter +2
T39. Zhang +5
T70. Sturdza +9

Round 2 was not completed due to a rain delay. When play did get going, it was a tough day for the Stanford women. Very few players finished, so they will be out on the course in the morning to finish the round. Top 30 play Augusta on Saturday and there will be a playoff to decide the last spots if necessary. The current cut is at +5
T9. Krauter +2 thru 17 - almost certain to make the cut
T26. Zhang +5 thru 14
T26. Ganne +5 thru 13
T37. Heck +6 thru 10 - might just need to par out but a birdie would likely get her into Saturday
T52. Ye +8 thru 14 - will need at least 2 birdies in her final 4 holes to make the cut
T62. Sturdza +11 thru 16 - played better today but won't make the cut
So 3 and possibly 4 women look like they'll be playing on Saturday

Round 2 has now finished, and as expected the cut line moved to +6. Three of the six Stanford women made the cut, with Aline Krauter only two shots off the lead and Rose Zhang three shots out.
T6. Krauter +2
T9. Zhang +3
T21. Heck +5
Stanford women are accounting for 10% of the players who made the cut!
Unfortunately Megha Ganne blew up this morning. She began the day at +5 but double bogeyed 15 and 16.
Ganne +9
Sturdza +11
Ye +11
Later today all players will play a practice round at Augusta, and the final round is at Augusta tomorrow for the top 30.

Also, Brooke Seay made the cut at the LPGA Chevron Championship (formerly ANA Inspiration), one of their majors.

Overall a strong showing for the Stanford women this weekend. At Augusta:
T8. Krauter +3
T12. Zhang +5
T27. Heck +12
MC: Ganne, Sturdza, Ye
Brooke Seay made the cut at the LPGA Chevron Championship and is currently +2 through 12 holes on her final round.
With so many players at these events, Stanford will not be competing as a team Mon-Wed at Silverado CC in Napa. Sadie Englemann & Calista Reyes will compete as individuals.

Win, are we concerned about Rachel Heck's recent play? She seems to be struggling. Her last 6 competitive rounds for Stanford have been 76-75-73-79-73-75 and then 73-76-79 at Augusta. That is not what one would expect from last year's #1 collegiate player.
Stanford looks to have a solid top 3 right now with Zhang, Krauter and Seay. But to me it seems like the last 2 spots are up for grabs among Heck, Englemann, Sturdza and Ye. Would be interested in any insight you might have from hanging around the golf course.

I am a little, but her spot in the lineup is not in question at all. She was the medalist in February in San Diego. My guess is that the lineup for the rest of the season is the three you mention plus Heck & Sturdza with Englemann as the alternate for regionals & nationals. Ye really hasn't played well all year.
