Nice article about Thomas Booker - TreesAndBirds - 04-26-2022

“At Stanford, they are really big on understanding the why,” Booker said. “They want you to know why they had certain calls, why we play certain techniques. This process can be a grind and to engage in it is definitely humbling. Honestly, I enjoy the different philosophies and talking concepts, actually teaching yourself some new ones.”

Hope he does better than the last Stanford DL drafted highly.

Harrison Phillips is doing quite well, actually. ;)

Should have been specific. Didn't Phillips get a big contract to change teams?

Sure did. 3 years $19.5M to the Vikings. Awesome for him.

Trent Murphy also got a big FA contract from the Bills in 2018, but then had a couple of injuries and was waived in 2020. Hasn't been on a roster since.

Was the "highly drafted" comment in reference to Solomon Thomas? Hasn't panned out as would have been expected of that high a draft pick, but he did just sign with the Jets at the end of March, albeit a one-year deal for $2.5M

Thomas was unfortunate to be a tweener. Not quite an edge, not quite an inside guy. Always wonder if another year would have helped but #3 draft money wasn't bad.
