In the quarter finals, Stanford beat Wagner 16-6.  Stanford won each of the first 2 quarters 6–2. After that subs were in.  In an uncommon stat, Chistina Hicks scored 2 goals and then had 2 saves in 4+ minutes as a goalie.  I didn’t get to watch part of the 3rd quarter or any of the 4th.

Semifinal will be against UCLA (likely but possibly UCI) Saturday at noon PDT, streaming at the NCAA site.

Finals are Sunday at 1pm PDT on ESPNU. 

(Unfortunately, I will probably miss both games live)

we'll be playing USC.

For the 7th time in the last 12 finals, the championship matchup will be rivals Stanford and USC. Stanford is 2-4 all time vs. USC in championship matches.

Edit to add how much I love beating the Trojans for a national championship. Let's go, Cardinal!!!

Game under way, USC leads 3-2 after one.  Wish I knew more about water polo.  It looks like the USC defense is pretty tough.
We are down 4-3 at the half.  We seem to have difficulties getting the ball inside without turning it over.  USC was scoring on us each time we got an exclusion, but we adjusted and have done much better.

We pull ahead 6-5. I know very little about water polo, but based on the opposing shooting percentages I've seen, the Stanford defense is pretty good, too.
