I liked his play-by-play. Best of luck.

Always liked Scott. I hope he finds good sushi in KC

Congrats to Scott, a well-deserved big step up. Wouldn't surprise me if he returns to the bay area in a few years as Sports Director for one of the four major local stations
RE: Scott Reiss -

I’m surprised that Stanford is still on the radio given the Bay Area’s lack of interest in local teams.

As Stanford gets a new radio play-by-play announcer, Cal’s Joe Starkey will finish his 48th and last year with the Bears this year.

Shoot, I was going to post, "Starkey to Stanford."
He must be making a fortune with the termite commercial residuals. "And rodents, YIKES."
What a bonanza.

So how long before interns from KZSU camp in the Bob Murphy broadcast booth as sidekick(s) J. Platz and whomever?

Is Troy Clardy the next play by play man? Broadcasts went way down when Todd Husak left.

Whoever can say "yes" the best will get the job.

Well that eliminates all members of the ThunderDome.

We did say YES to Tonga.
And let's get one thing straight.
There was Thunderdome.
And then there were the BGL. I think CI is about the only other member still on the Cardboard. Bobbbbb was too busy doing his docent thing. I still see the Emperor once in a while.

Apples & oranges. Reiss and Clardy are play by play guys. Husak was color. That being said, Clardy should be their first (and only?) call.

Stanford announced that Tim Roye, the radio play by play announcer for the Warriors, as the new radio play by play guy for Stanford football. Not sure if he has any Stanford ties, but he's a great radio announcer.

Note Dave Raymond ‘94 will call the games when Roye has Warrior commitments.
I don’t know if either has any recent football announcing experience.

After a bit of digging...
Roye has done TV play-by-play for Cal football, but not sure when.
Raymond did some TV college football announcing for ESPN3 and Comcast in the early-mid 10's, and hosted a Houston Texans pre- and post-game studio show.

It's not, really. It's on 1050. Static after dark for me in the East Bay. Marginal during the day.

You can also stream KZSU.
Last year, Stanford BB with Reiss was streamed on the Varsity app.
It’s possible it will be the same now for football.

Jordan Kent has the play-by-play on PAC-12 Network today (Greg Camarillo). Jordan Kent is a former Oregon athlete and Ernie Kent’s son.
Meanwhile, Dave Flemming is on ESPN with Rod Gilmore, calling #23 Cincinnati at
#19 Arkansas.
