Great indeed. Peters in particular intrigues me, for that range of distances. Will she concentrate on the low end (sprint) or gravitate to the higher end (short mid-distance). 2:06.89 is a terrific time for a high schooler.

A poster on the letsrun message board said that Amelia Everett has committed to Stanford. Looks like a 2:06.19 800 meter and 4:49.31 mile. Gatorade Massachusetts Girls Track & Field Player of the Year, who "has maintained an A average in the classroom."

Some of those 800 meter runners are either going to have to move up or down in distance. I don't understand the recruiting unless a change in event is planned from the start.

As you know track & field and XC are partial scholarship sports. Zero to XX %

Indeed. I know of recruited distance runners on the squad currently (and who are good) who got books only. It's a means of admission to Stanford that, frankly, would otherwise be beyond their reach academically.

The 56.38 m personal best would have been fourth in last year’s NCAA tourney.
