The story would have been a lot more worth reporting if the kid decided to drop Oregon as a result. Never understand why people yell insulting things at others. It's so childish and classless. The kid in question is certainly wise enough to know there are disrespectful and "ist" people everywhere.

To be clear, when we talk about attrition it’s usually in the context of a decommitment. As best I can tell from skimming the article, he had not been committed to Oregon and is still considering them, so he hasn’t attrited.

The Oregon fans have a track record of classless behavior.
Washington players have had dog poop thrown at them while entering/exiting the field.

While generically agree, it is certainly not rare.
The Oregon fans briefly chanted "F*** the Mormons" in the clip that is circulating. A certain number of fans joined in, but it petered out after about three cycles. I haven't seen anything as to whether this was repeated throughout the game.
At Stanford games, I have heard chants of "F*** the Trojans".
I've seen UC Berkeley shirts stating "F*** Stanford".
etc. etc.
Now if the Oregon fans had merely chanted "F*** the Cougars" presumably we would never have heard about this.
I still wouldn't have liked it.

Seem to remember baby blue t-shirts with yellow script: Fucla back in the day, along with F*** Cal buttons. . . .

Apparently we were sitting in a booth in a corner up against glass walls. Four tired guys just off a morning spent in a corral trying to shoot amidst cowboys on horseback and unbroken ponies.
The other lunching customers all wore cowboy regalia and most were fairly large.
The four of us were late 30’s with experience all over the world and not just in the film business. Among other topics was a “discussion” about a chapter in a recent book about the use of ice in the bedroom. Our server, polite at first, brought our orders and basically flung them at us. We were stunned but then our soundman looked around and noticed the glass. To him it was obvious that the voices bounced back at the counter where our gal was stationed. Kamas was a 100% LDS town. Just then a fellow with hands as big as King Kong brought our check. “She got ears, she can hear... git.”
Everybody was staring at us and we got, basically backing out and leaving the burgers. We felt lucky that it was daytime.

It's 20 idiot fans in the whole stadium chanting for like 10 seconds, and this is national news?
Back in my day you'd have to have a halftime show from a whole organized band mocking Mormons for polygamy to make the news.
