Interesting back story on the refs.
Some acknowledgement that the result may not have been right.
Reflections on the agony Cal football fans have otherwise endured.

so the referee at Big Game, Charles Moffett, had scored the winning touchdown for Kansas on an 80-yard run at the end of the Kansas State game.
except that a referee flagged a teammate for clipping, even though the teammate was 15 yards behind the play, and Moffett was almost at the goal line.
i did not know that.

one of my classmates has a book coming out on The Pay in November and the Stanford Historical Society is hosting a session with him
"A member of two Pulitzer Prize winning teams, Tyler Bridges has deftly reconstructed the pivotal moments and resulting lore, thanks to more than 375 interviews with all the key figures on both sides of the rivalry, including players, coaches, referees, band members, and stadium personnel."
