Eighteen - Redrum - 06-23-2010
Finally. A wide receiver! (Actually, finally
another WR)
Devon Cajuste, 6\'4", 215 lb. WR from Flushing, N.Y. committed while attending Stanford\'s Junior Day. Both Rivals and Scout rate him a 3-star. Observers at the Junior Day say Cajuste showed real quickness and very good hands. Others say comparisons to Ed McCaffrey are reasonable given his build. He has offers from Penn State, Boston College, Maryland, Purdue, Rutgers, UConn and Syracuse.

Apparently he\'s a big noise in the NYC high school football scene.

Isn\'t 215 kind of heavy for a WR?

215 makes me wonder about the McCaffery comparison. Â Wasn\'t that guy rail thin or was it just those puny high school shoulder pads? Â /Lefty
Re: Eighteen - ealtice - 06-28-2010
I\'ve read that there is some thought he could develop into a TE...Also of note: he participates in track and, among other events, is quite a good high jumper. Â Sounds like a nice skill to have as either a big receiver or a smaller, athletic TE
Cajuste ran in the NYC track championships - Redrum - 06-28-2010
Ran an 11.47 in the 100 meters, placed 7th in the finals. Â Honestly don\'t know what that says about his speed. Â Fast for a big guy? Â Fast for a (ahem) guy. Â Fast for a TE? Â For reference, Â Chris Owusu, considered the speed burner on the team, Â ran a 10.6 100m in HS.

I thought Ed was 6\'6" or 6\'7"....wasn\'t he a PF on the basketball team?
