OT: For your inner Kenny Rogers - Phogge - 10-07-2022
KGO radio reportedly going to all sports and sports gambling on Monday. "810 The Spread" will be the moniker. Gambling unless it refers to a picnic layout or something porny.
Boy I can't wait to not listen to that station.

One of my Cub Scout projects was to build a crystal radio. KGO's 50,000 watts was the only station I could get. But I was happy staying up late under the covers listening to sports with Ira Blue, followed by Les Crane broadcasting from the Hungry i.

Q what memories. Ira Blue batting leadoff and Crane hitting cleanup. Fouts dad doing sports.
Bob Fouts in the Kezar booth, honest to God, "Intercepted by Woodson, he's at the 35, the 40, the 45, the 50, the 55.........."
"Tommy Davis lines up his sights, ball snapped, put down, kicked... it's long enough but it's off to the right... and short."
Gordy Soltau doing color, "Hey kids don't forget to send away for your 8x10 glossy pictures of all the 49ers. Included is a brief biological sketch on the reverse side."
Then at night on TV, Fireman Frank and Road Island Red the chicken.

Road Island Red, Scat The Cat, Carl The Carrot, Dynamo Dudley, and Dynamo Dudley’s mom, who was a tin can full of nuts and bolts. Thank God I grew up with Fireman Frank and not Barney the Dinosaur. Sadly my Gordy Soltau trading card has been lost along with YA Tittle, Bob St. Clair, Joe Perry, Billy Wilson, Leo Nomellini, John Henry Johnson, and so many others. Those cards would be worth millions today and would still smell like bubble gum.

Guess they're betting that 26 or 27 will pass. Not likely at this point, apparently.
Perhaps Kate Starbird could research disinformation from the two sides of ballot propositions . . . .
