Other Games this Weekend -
Austroturf - 10-29-2022
The most surprising result so far today is the 38-0 shellacking that K-State is inflicting on OK State with a few minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Total domination by the Wildcats.
Cal was able to hang with Oregon for the 1st quarter. Now it is 28-10 Ducks late in the 3rd quarter with Oregon driving in the red zone.

Oregon fails to convert on 4th down so Cal is only down 18.
Some other earlier results: Ohio State crushed Penn State. Notre Dame beat a 16-ranked Syracuse. Georgia has been having its way with Florida.

Interestingly, Georgia has not managed to score so far in the 2nd half; and late in the 3rd quarter, Florida is only 8 points down (28-20) after a 70+ yard scoring strike. Game on.
Unranked Louisville is hammering #10 Wake Forest 41-14 late in the 3rd quarter. Some real surprises today. Wake Forest has 5 turnovers.

Took Georgia about 2 minutes to answer back.
And yeah, Wake Forest was up 14-13 at the half, and Louisville scored 28 unanswered points in the third quarter.

Either Plummer is hurt or was benched or Wilcox has decided the game is lost: Cal now has freshman QB Kai Millner in the game trailing Oregon 35-10.
Illinois will move to 7-1 under 2nd-year coach Bret Bielema. Trailing Nebraska 9-6 in the 2nd quarter, the Illini have score 20 unanswered points and lead 26-9 late in the 4th quarter.

And Georgia scored again to make it a three score game.

One-point lead at the half, then they turned it over 7 times in the second half.

9th ranked OK State was shutout by K-State 48-0.
When was the last time a top 10 team was shutout by at least 48 points?

Wilcox has been under some pressure to give the freshman a try. Plummer has been somewhat injured for the last three games but not enough to keep him "out". Wilcox may also be hoping for some mercy and to get the score a bit closer in "garbage time". He got it. Cal tied Oregon in the 4th quarter but got killed in the 2nd quarter. The point differential matched ours at the end.

OSU score a bit misleading. PSU was ahead with 9:30 to play.OSU then scored 2 TDS in 90 seconds on their way to 28 points in 4th.

Arizona of all teams is hanging with USC at halftime, down only 17-13.

Read interesting article on Marcus Freeman. He has six kids. Brings them to practice sometimes. For two reasons. One, so he gets to spend a little more time with his kids. Two, because he wants to model fatherhood for his players, many of whom, as he pointed out, have never known their fathers. Pretty impressive in my book.

San Diego State 14, Fresno 10. Much more interesting than our game.

Another interesting fact about Freeman is that his mother is Korean and spoke little English when she got married and came to the US with her American husband.
Freeman probably brings the kids to practice to give his wife a break.
Freeman became a Catholic this year.

Good on Freeman for Fatherhood.
Six kids? He's been Catholic for a while...

Michigan beat Michigan State 29-7. and afterwards, there was a disagreement in the tunnel between Michigan defensive back Ja'Den McBurrows and about ten Michigan State players.

Corum is not going to win the Voldemort but he should. He has the benefit of a tough, well coached OL but time after time he is able to extend his own run through toughness of his own.
JH finally has his team. The Ohio game should be epic.

"disagreement"?!? The dude was jumped, punched and kicked. Apparently, the Michigan player entered the tunnel the same time as the Michigan State team. Thinking is that he was headed to the trainers. . . .
