Stanford and Cal should be overjoyed that they are bailing. The talent gap is striking.
SC with over 400 yards early in the 3rd Q. Basketball on grass.

What a game! UCLA will not give up. Jones is having a big game.
RE: SC/UCLA -

SC goes up 10 and DTR throws a 55 yard dart to make it 41-38. Williams near 400 yards in three quarters. Both can run. No statues.
RE: SC/UCLA -

Austin Jones has 105 yards and 2 TDs. Happy for him.
BC
SC scores again to go up 10 and UCLA answers right back. Now 48-45.
BC
DTR threw his third INT, and that should do it with 1:25 left.

Williams more dynamic than Stroud. Corum was hurt but if he has a big game against OSU he is in the Voldemort conversation.
I hope Williams throws for a thousand against the Domers.
SC finally has a coach.

Btw, Tennessee got destroyed by the other SC, and basically at this point, every SEC team but Georgia has two losses, so it’s hard for me to see how a second SEC team makes the playoff.

If LSU wins out and beats Georgia in the SEC Championship game, they get in.

They have two wins over top-25 teams (ole miss and Alabama). It’s a down year for the SeC.

Williams and DTR get the ball out quickly and with velocity. Have great receivers. McKee is slow and has below average receivers.

U$C is the Pac-12's last hope for a CFP spot. The Trojans have to beat the Domers, then prevail against Oregon or Washington in the Pac-12 title game.
After Tennessee's loss, the Trojans should be 6th behind Georgia, OSU, Michigan, TCU and LSU in next week's poll. One of Michigan and OSU will probably be eliminated after their game next week, though it is not impossible that a one-loss East Division runner-up in the Big Ten could still pip the Pac-12 champion.
TCU has to win out to stay in the running. If they lose, they probably drop out. As for the SEC, yes, if LSU beats Georgia in the SEC title game, both LSU and Georgia will be in. The other two are most likely the Big Ten champ (providing the West Division champ does not prevail) and either TCU or USC, providing they win out.
The Pac-12 chances for a CFP berth increase if Georgia beats LSU -- then, only one SEC team makes the play-off. Clemson could also still sneak into the picture, but their bad loss vs. the Domers does not help their cause.

Are there seriously people who want SC in “for the PAC 12?” They aren’t truly even in the PAC 12. They essentially flipped it the bird on their way to a big payday. F-Em.
I don’t ever want to see SC at or near the top. Especially now with their team full of mercenaries. I root for NCAA violations and probation. Hoping ND whips them.

I no longer despise USC. I respect them. They're comfortable in their togas. Football supremacy is in their DNA and they make no bones about it. They embrace it unabashedly, they're damned good at it and they're positioned for another era of "being USC." They will fight on. And on, and on. While some of us fume with envy. More power to 'em.

Cheating is also in their DNA. Course, with NIL and the portal their donors can just set up a large enough war chest that they don’t have to cheat. Mercenaries and SC go together quite well. Respect? No.
“Student-athletes” was a nice fiction for a long time. There is no longer any argument to be made for major college football (or the other major revenue sport - mens basketball) having anything to do with “students”. I do think Shaw admirably attempted to fight against that. But it’s a lost cause.

All but lost, absolutely, and you're presenting a valid debate. Still, USC's been rebuked (censured?) for their transgressions and it cost them. They took those punches and answered the bell, such that it was. Thing is, they know who and what they are and don't puff up in the way of Duke or Notre Dame. 'SC is not Stanford and never will be. And, needless to say, vice-versa -- but they have no inferiority complex about it. And their days of being a sports punchline are in the rearview mirror. Stanford's have only begun. Not that anybody cares, of course.

McKee seems like a fantastic kid with endless potential in life, and he looked pretty good subbing in for some other QBs there's no need to name. Maybe he can be developed to have a better sense of the pocket, and more skills to survive pressure, but as of right now he doesn't appear to have enough to lead a division 1 team (let alone, ahem, the NFL), for reasons that are probably obvious to everyone by now. Everyone other than the coaching brain trust that is.

Yet, I saw a draft site. 3 “experts”. All had McKee as No 4 QB. All said hard to judge cause team is so bad.

My analysis of their playoff hopes was a rather dispassionate undertaking. That said, I think it would be generally fine if a Pac-12 team made the playoffs, just to see how the best team in our conference might stack up among CFP teams. Of course, we got an early indication of that when Oregon faced Georgia in the season-opener. Not good. Frankly, I don't think USC would measure up favorably, as they probably don't have the defense to go toe-to-toe with the best. But if the Pac-12 does have a representative in the CFP, it's USC or bust at this stage in the season. I get it that the Trojans are turncoat Pac-12 members; but they are still, for now, in the conference.

#4? Perhaps if the team that drafts him like his personal ethic (I greatly admire the LDS and the two year mission that I hope will one day be the norm for American youth, that is service). But he will be destroyed in the NFL though I doubt he plays much.
Williams is what the Niners hope Lance can be. DTR, Maye (frosh), Penix, Duggan, Young, Stroud are the QB's who will one day be high picks.
