First three are correct, nice work. And the fourth is the Angels. You would think a heavenly mascot, right?

Great guess!
The original Louisville Slugger was Pete Browning who played for Louisville of the American Association from 1882 to 1889, back when they were considered a major league. He was one of the best hitters in all of baseball (career .341), leading the league in batting average, OBP, OPS, hits, etc. He was one of the first to purchase bats from that company, and lent them the use of his name to promote their company.

BTW, when the American Association folded, and became the Players League for one year (which subsequently folded after the 1890 season), a number of those players were essentially free agents, free to sign with whatever National League team would have them. Other teams referred to Browning's signing as an "act of piracy" and the Pittsburgh team thereupon adopted the Pirate as their mascot.

That team had a number of Hall of Fame managers, including Connie Mack and Ned Hanlon. It also had HoF members Jake Beckley and Pud Galvin

I have finally figured out that there are posts and people that I have no earthly reason to be heard/read/corresponded with on this board.
However after being released from Bandom I hope to contribute to the trivia page. All great guys.
So... What was the last PCL pennant that the Seals won before their last season in the Stadium on 16th and Bryant (1957)? Who was the manager? Bobbbbb not eligible.

Thought the Seals played in the WHL then the NHL. Still have a set of Seal glasses given out at the local Shell in the 60's.
Welcome back you old curmudgeon. Good luck with your trees; so far, a non event in the East Bay. Keeping fingers crossed.

Indeed. I recently made a decision to not respond to inflammatory fishing expeditions that are solely meant to stir the pot because they are simply not worth the time and effort.
Trivia question: Don’t know the year but, like Mick, I would guess O’Doul was the manager….

Sandberg, Kent, Mays, Mantle, Snider, Bench, Banks.
Carl Hubbell worked for the Giants for 56 years. His career statistics are similar to Hall of Famer Juan Marichal, he struck out six Hall of Famers in the second ever All Star game. His nickname was "The Meal Ticket." In a sixteen-year career, he had just one losing season, when he went 11-12 in his 13th season. His best pitch was the screwball, which moved in the opposite direction as a curveball.
Two questions:
1) What Hall of Famer originally signed Hubbell, then dumped him due to overreliance on the screwball?
2) Which modern-day pitcher did Hubbell believe was most reminiscent of Hubbell's style and delivery?
