More significant than the general back-and-forth of Irish neuroses is the state of the safety, Harrison Smith, mentioned in the lede. And also the Domers' best running back--Jonas Gray--suffered an unspecified knee injury and is out for our game.
So Saturday's game will be a walking-wounded matchup for sure.

This will be a tough test for Shaw. There is bound to be a letdown after two intense games.

They should be in OK shape by game time.
Had no idea that Jonas Gray had replaced Cierre Wood as starting RB. Now, if WR Michael Floyd were to join the flu crew on Friday, that would be nice for us.

I kind of believe that like Oregon, Stanford had a bit of a letdown last weekend.
I suspect the team will be more fully recovered from the Oregon game when Notre Dame comes to town.

Will we play better against the Domers than we did the Bares?
I hope so, because I don't think the level of play we exhibited against Kal is going to get it done against the Domers.
Given the weather, the field conditions, and the fact that both teams are banged up, I'm not expecting this game to be one for the time capsule. However, I think we will find a way to win what will be another close game.
