You can add #3 Arkansas to that list. They lost to TCU 14-1. TCU was the second seed in the pool, and had beaten Arkansas 15-6 in the second game of the regular season as well. TCU won 13 of their last 14 games, Arkansas lost four of their last eight. It's almost as if there's an SEC bias or something.

Oklahoma State and Auburn are the first regional hosts to get swept. That's only the third time this century that has happened.

SEC is certainly over-represented among the host schools as we are seeing in regional play. But the SEC has dominated NCAA baseball lately. 8 national champs and 7 runners up in the past 13 years. Not dominated by any one school either - South Carolina (x2), Vanderbilt (x2), Mississippi State, Mississippi, Florida, LSU.
The only other conference with multiple championships during that period? Pac12 with 3.

But are the SEC teams objectively better or do they have an advantage because of overrepresentation and home field advantage in the regionals? If they get more teams into the CWS and then it's a double-elimination format, I'd say that works in their favor, however slightly.

Seven of the top eight programs in terms of attendance are SEC programs (Texas is #5 and they’ll be in the SEC in another year). Ole Miss and Mississippi State drew over 16,000 for a game this season despite both programs being at the bottom of the SEC standings.
It’s a cheesy motto but it’s true that it just means more in the SEC. There’s more local interest which translates to more money which translates to better facilities, bigger budgets, more attractive atmospheres to recruits and overall better programs.

Oregon on the verge of winning the Nashville regional. And if I heard correctly, they will get to host the Super Regional. Amazing. Their pitching is good, but they got some good breaks, too. I'm not sure I want to face them again in the CWS.

Would love to face them and have a chance at payback. We clenched defeat from the jaws of victory in that pac-12 tournament.

Damn impressive by Florida to come back to beat Texas Tech twice. They won Sunday night 7-1 and today 6-0.

This is not exactly a College Baseball Score, but it is other college baseball and doesn't seem to merit its own thread.
Wazzou baseball coach Brian Green is being hired away to coach Wichita State. Apparently Wichita was awed by Green's 35-51 Pac 12 record over three seasons progressing from 8th to 9th to 10th place finishes. It's either that or the potential savings from Green getting to keep all his WSU gear.

Another highlight in that article, "
all but one Wichita State player is [sic] in the transfer portal."
Now that's turnover.

Oral Roberts out to an early lead on Oregon, 4-0 in top of third.
Now there is a free agent college team.
Of the 9 hitters in their lineup, 5 were on other college teams last year, 3 transferred a year ago, and 1 came up through ORU.
It sounded like the announcers just said there were 17 transfers to ORU team this year, but maybe he meant all newcomers - frosh plus transfers.

Duke hasn't been to CWS since 1961.

Oregon not looking good so far. 8-0 Oral Roberts. All 8 runs in top of 3rd inning. Oh it’s still the top of the 3rd.
