Semi-OT: Update on my Youtube videos - TonyLima - 01-27-2024

After several years of chugging merrily along, I got hit with a spate of copyright notices yesterday.  These seem to have been autogenerated by Veritone, a company that uses AI to analyze audio media.  I'm gradually fixing the files, but it's not helpful that the nature of the copyright claim is not shared with me.  I appealed one, Veritone immediately rejected it, making me think their entire process is automated.  I've contacted Youtube (via s-mail, the method that historically has worked for me).  In any case, since there's a lot of interest in some of the finer details of the ASU game, I'll try to post that today.

My guess is that most of the complaints are about background music. I'm using Adobe Audition's Center Channel Extractor to separate the voice from the music.  It's OK, but if anyone has another suggestion, I'd be happy to try it.  (SpectraLayers from Steinberg looks promising but still needs some development.)

Thanks for your patience.

I got one of those too, which claimed "audiovisual" for almost the entire game. I found that highly dubious but didn't want to bother fighting it, plus they seemingly weren't only claiming audio, so I just took the game down.

I wrote a letter to the Youtube CEO.  Here's a possibly useful phrase: copyright spam.

Still getting copyright takedowns. These are unwarranted. Here’s my plan.

I’ll post in this thread when I upload a video. I will also send an email to anyone who asks to be on the list. Best way to get on said list is to email me: tony@proflima.com.

I advise downloading the game asap after I post it. We use the 4K downloader app.

Thanks for your patience and support.

RE: Semi-OT: Update on my Youtube videos - TonyLima - 02-06-2024

Uploading a new version of the Washington State - Stanford WBB game right now.  Should be available by 5:30 Pacific time.

RE: Semi-OT: Update on my Youtube videos - TonyLima - 02-20-2024

Posting my first baseball game of the season: Fullerton vs Stanford game 3.  Should be available for downloading by 6 pm Feb 20 left coast time.

RE: Semi-OT: Update on my Youtube videos - TonyLima - 02-26-2024

Will upload the two WBB Arizona games now.  Should be processed by 4 or 5 pm (Feb. 26). Get them before they're blocked.

Also several baseball games now available, including yesterday's win vs Penn State.

I spoke too soon.  Will try to fix the copyright issues and repost later today.  Sigh.

RE: Semi-OT: Update on my Youtube videos - CompSci87 - 02-28-2024

Real issues, like recognizable music in the background, or bogus issues like some cryptically named company claiming visual and audio rights to everything?

In some cases there is background music.  I've switched to Steinberg's SpectraLayers Pro.  Just tried it on a segment of the audio for Cal at Stanford. As far as I can tell, it removed the music without doing too much damage to the vocals. Uploading that right now.  Stay tuned.

There are other cases where I can't hear any music (even with my hearing aids).  Still trying to figure those out.

RE: Semi-OT: Update on my Youtube videos - M T - 03-03-2024

Have you considered posting the games without any audio?

Trying to do that selectively (only for clips with music). Look for more audio gaps in the future

RE: Semi-OT: Update on my Youtube videos - TonyLima - 03-12-2024

{osted the WBB Pac-12 tournament Stanford games.  Two versions of the championship: one with Pac-12 audio, the other with the KZSU call (coming soon).  Will also post OSU-Colorado and UCLA-USC (assuming the video deities smile on me).

Prayers needed.  Having two major appliances replaced tomorrow (March 13).

Update: household, not personal appliances.
