The Miracle at Maples - 20 years later - Spiny_Norman - 02-06-2024

A fantastic oral history by David Kiefer of the Stanford-Arizona hoops game from 2004 - 20 years ago!! Definitely worth the time to read it. You can then follow it up with a video play of the last 90 seconds or so. Gives me goosebumps every time.

Video of the last 7:30.

Still brings tears to my eyes.  Sitting three rows up behind our bench, I can remember Robinson's shot like it was yesterday.  Watching this replay, though, was very interesting.  From the start of the replay, at 7:30 left to go, until about 2:15 or so left, that team played very much like Haase teams over the past several years -- turnovers, bad shots, shaky defense, and blowing a substantial lead.  Really, the only difference for that five minutes between then and now was the incredible crowd involvement/noise back then.  Oh, and having Nick Robinson and Josh Childress...
