Attachment Purge -

I'm looking to free up space on our server. One easy way to do that is by getting rid of attachments (photos, etc). I'm planning to remove attachments that are more than five years old. If you have something that you'd like to have on site, please download and reupload it. I don't think the purge will include avatars, but just in case, you may want to download those, as well.
I will be doing the purge over next weekend.

All the attachments must be pretty old, because the attachment feature hasn't been working for years, as far as I know. Unless it was fixed recently. I meant to try to debug it, but I remain completely defeated by the way MyBB is implemented with code snippets coming from the database.

I
asked about attachments in 2018 and CompSci87 responded then that it had been broken for some time. I’ve checked a few times since then, and they never worked. So I think any attachments are more than 5 years old. (Attachments did work in a myBB board I created.). (I don’t know if PMs can have attachments but I do know the space for PMs is controlled.)
I will take this opportunity to say Thanks! for this safe haven to discuss Stanford sports. The recent downtime illuminated how important this forum is to me, and I believe to a lot of others.
Disk space is almost always cheaper than the effort to reduce usage. I suspect Cardboarders will chip in, if that could help.

I was going to post a comment that I didn’t want Steve Durrett’s photos to ever leave the board, but then in searching old posts, I figured out that his website is still up!
If anyone newer to the board missed out on his photos, his website (durrettphoto.com) is a fantastic archive of photos of Stanford sports during the years that he was shooting Stanford sports for fun, mostly football and basketball. He’s been gone for some years now, but I’m glad to see that his photos live on.
I would also chip in for a drive upgrade…

I saw the subject line and thought I was clicking on a strangely worded argument for the dismissal of Haase and Muir.
Which I also support.

Build it into the annual cost of Cardboard hosting. I'm in.

Redrum used to organize an occasional donation pool to pay for Cardboard upkeep, etc, but we haven't done this for quite some time (or for that matter heard from Redrum, who is missed!). Might be time to do it again.

I could only access some of the baseball and hoops galleries. The rest seem to be dead ends,

I asked Yvonne just a couple of days ago whether it's time to ask for donations again, and she said no.
However, if we would have to go to a more expensive package from our hosting company to afford more storage, I suppose that answer could change. I'm not aware of what we're paying now, the amount of storage included, or what the charge would be for more, so I really have no clue.
