WNBA Draft 2024 - Cam and Hannah - BillBradley - 04-15-2024

WNBA draft is today at 7:30p EST.  All the mock drafts have Cam going to LA with the 2nd pick. Some have Hannah as a 3rd round pick. Good luck to both! Wonder if Tara will be there with Cam?

Also Can's family and Sonja Curry. But no Tara. Other coaches are there.

Has Tara ever been at the draft? Would definitely have been some good face time for Kate. Doesn't help Stanford recruiting to not have a coach there while the other top players are all hugging their coaches (Dawn, Geno, Mulkey...).

Has Tara ever been at the draft? Would definitely have been some good face time for Kate. Doesn't help Stanford recruiting to not have a coach there while the other top players are all hugging their coaches (Dawn, Geno, Mulkey...).

Hopefully Kate is busy negotiating her contract with Stanford so she can officially take over a head coach and bring in recruits to replace the many holes on the roster.

Cam went #2 as we all know. Hannah did not get drafted. Wonder if she'll get try to make a team, or just go right overseas. Or try to make the UK Olympic team

+1. Astonished that neither Kate or Tara were there. Stanford needs all the recruiting help it can get for the top recruits.

Tara hasn’t gone in recent memory. Last year Coach Brit was there with Haley Jones. This year Jeannette Pohlen was there. Someone from the program is always there, it just hasn’t been Tara. If thr draft was held in LA, she’d probably be there. It’s a lot of travel.

Team Britain didn't make the Olympics

The WNBA has so few teams with spots at such a premium, I would guess she will go directly overseas. At least expansion talk seems to be real right now.

Or, you know, the academic all American (https://gostanford.com/news/2024/4/16/womens-basketball-jump-an-academic-all-american.aspx) with a masters degree in communication with a concentration in media studies could make use of the degree and enter the non-basketball workforce.

I have nothing to base this on but gut feeling.  I believe Tara was smart enough to want to out on top, or as close as she should.  I don't think Cameron or Kiki's departure was real surprise. It made for the perfect time for her to leave. Kate is going to have her work cut out for her.
