Recent Cardboard software issues - CompSci87 - 06-27-2024
If you're wondering why the board was down for a day or two, it's because pair.com upgraded our Mysql database from version 5.7 to 8.0, and 8.0 is not compatible with the PHP version we were using, which was 5.6. We were supposed to get notified ahead of time, but somehow no one saw the notification.
George figured this out and updated us to PHP 7.4.33. Yay!
After the PHP update, there was an issue with the plugin that can embed YouTube videos and some other kinds of videos. Any post with a YouTube link was being displayed as empty. For now I have disabled the plugin, so you can see the posts, but nothing is embedded any longer.
Hopefully we will be able to fix or update the plugin, or find a new one. That depends on when someone (probably Yvonne or George; I am still helpless trying to debug anything in MyBB) has some time.
