I overheard a fan telling his companion at the game last week that Stanford would announcing a commitment to football and basketball in the near future. The only other piece I heard was that it was not first hand information but based on account from someone in close contact with top levels of the administration.

Arkansas is tied for 13th in the SEC. Not much better than 15th in the ACC.

And yet we have to avoid alienating generations of Stanford alumni from becoming fans, otherwise all we'll surround ourselves with are our ever-dwindling population of oldheads. If we don't make fans out of the undergrads while they're at Stanford, then it's a hard sell to get them to become fans when they take on other priorities in life.
