RE: Depth Chart for Virginia - Spiny_Norman - 09-17-2025

Fisher Anderson moving over to center replacing Ziron Brown who is now listed as a backup guard. I did not notice, was Anderson or Brown playing center at the end of the game? Anderson now is Plan C with Mejia injured and Brown perhaps demoted.

Anderson was playing center at the end of the game.  He started the game playing center and Brown came into play left guard when the starter (#60) went down with a leg injury.

Are the other guys hurt or is this just the normal progession that takes place after the coaches have enough film to make decions.

We are down 3-4 presumed starters, probably for the year: Nick Fattig (injured on Sat, didn't look good), Jack Leyrer (injured in camp, might be returning?), Nate Mejia (out for the season), and Simione Pale (MCL - may return, but I doubt he will play more than 2 games because he hasn't yet redshirted).

We had been trying Brown at C, but that was a major weak spot for us. Fisher Anderson started at C on Saturday and looked like a massive upgrade.

After Fattig went down on Saturday, we tried Brown at LG but ultimately settled on Yamauchi in the second half. He and Ugorji have stepped up from 2nd string; Ugorji has also slid over from RT to RG. Both are true freshmen, and Ugorji is only 17. The new depth chart represents the second-half lineup versus BC.

These OLine injuries are heartbreaking.
And reminiscent of the many similar injuries during latter Coach Shaw years when seems like so many promising starters were saddled with significant injuries.

Is it still a “depth chart” if there is no depth?

BC

Maybe it's the "shallows chart."

Could anyone have predicted that Clemson would have been at the bottom of the ACC standings after 3 games?

Yes -- this is McCaffrey, but the line blocking on a lot of these plays is superior.  Many times he got to the second level before being touched.
And then he is deadly beyond the LOS

From the ACC Football Web Site the listing of the players who will not play this week.
For Stanford 14 players are listed as out, and 8 listed as probable.
