SJSU Game Thread - dabigv13 - 09-27-2025

Nice first drive. Gulbranson looked mostly pretty comfortable, run blocking solid, Tabb with nice burst.

RE: SJSU Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 09-27-2025

Despite the early penalties -- nice march to a touchdown by Field Marshall Gulbranson.  6 for 6 passing.
Very efficient passing against a weak SJST secondary, and easy paydirt for Tabb.   7-0 early.
We should be ranked...

RE: SJSU Game Thread - JJJ - 09-27-2025

Lots of penalties on both sides. Let’s cut down on the ones we commit. Play smart vs Sparty.

RE: SJSU Game Thread - needle - 09-27-2025

If Stanford can run the ball like they did on the first drive, it will be a victory by 14+.

San Jose State has a pretty talented offense. If you saw the first quarter of their game against Texas, they did really well.

At the end of the day, Stanford is aspiring to be an average P4 team and SJS is hoping to be an average G4 team. What is that difference? Quite large, actually. But we don't know yet how close Stanford is to "average."

Gulbranson, Brown must be attrocious

RE: SJSU Game Thread - fullmetal - 09-27-2025

Show me.  Because Gulbranson has showed us already.

RE: SJSU Game Thread - needle - 09-27-2025

So depressing to see Stanford running backs getting three yards a pop against SJState.

I am confident the Stanford defense will show out and eventually more or less bottle up the Spartans.

RE: SJSU Game Thread - JJJ - 09-27-2025

”False start, everyone but the center”… smh

RE: SJSU Game Thread - old spanish trail - 09-27-2025

Good God, QB has to see that free rusher.

RE: SJSU Game Thread - fullmetal - 09-27-2025

Is that a skill that factors into picking a starter?  One wonders.

Guess not.

RE: SJSU Game Thread - PalmTree - 09-27-2025

We needed that score!

RE: SJSU Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 09-27-2025

BAM.  BAM.  BAM.  Bolts to High, TD pass to Roush.
BRILLIANT.  Gulbranson 11 of 12 for 153 yards and the TD.  Super!
STAN 14, SJST 13 with 4min remaining in first half.

RE: SJSU Game Thread - JJJ - 09-27-2025

YES!
We’re the only team to not lead at the half in the ACC this season?

RE: SJSU Game Thread - PalmTree - 09-27-2025

AYKM?!?! There is no D in Tree....

RE: SJSU Game Thread - JJJ - 09-27-2025

Hope we have a 2–minute drill.

Apparently not.

RE: SJSU Game Thread - PalmTree - 09-27-2025

Wow.......sad

RE: SJSU Game Thread - ADPinWDC - 09-27-2025

Stanford student section shows up... and wow they look REALLY young.  !
What is up with that?

RE: SJSU Game Thread - needle - 09-27-2025

This is honestly the low point for me as a fan this season. I had high hopes coming into the game that Stanford's offensive line would really show some progress, but they're playing as poorly as any game this year.

I also though the Stanford D would be able to get some pressure against a team, San Jose State, that ranks 63rd in sacks allowed. Apparently, Stanford cannot muster anything there, either.

Honestly, Stanford's best hope today is that San Jose State hands the game over via turnovers, which they are fully capable of doing (No. 129 in fumbles lost, No. 69 in interceptions thrown). But I don't see much hope for the rest of the season.
