WBB: Stanford 64 -- Oregon 53 - triangle2 - 12-21-2025

Oregon is 12-1, #23 net, but unranked (5 pt in the coaches poll). To be honest, I'm less familiar with their roster this year. Their leading scorer is sophomore Katie Fiso from Seattle (Garfield HS) at 14.6 ppg, 102 assists to 44 turnovers. Close behind is senior wing Mia Jacobs from Australia, who transferred in after freshman year at La Salle, and then two years at Fresno State. She scores 14.5 ppg and leads the team in 3pt shots taken, shooting 38.2% from 3. Their leading 3-pt shooter by percentage is 6'0" Sofia Bell, who's shooting 39% on 59 attempts.

They throw up a lot of three-pt attempts: 264 attempts so far; we have taken 194.

They have not exactly had a difficult pre-conference schedule. They lost their only quad-1 game to date, getting blown out by UCLA. This will be a neutral site game at the Chase Center.

Agara is in, and already has 5(!) rebounds.  On pace for about 30, LOL.

Glad to see Shay betting in in the 1st quarter, much earlier than in past games, until Washington on Friday. Wow, is she disruptive

I didn't know they allowed players to bet!

31-25 at the half.  We've been helped by poor Oregon outside shooting; they are 0/7 from behind the line.  Ogden is the leading scorer with 13, Agara is up to 8 rebounds.

The refs have made some terrible calls and have let a lot go… but Stanford is shooting a little better, hopefully they are comfortable and have some advantage playing here last year. We are not leaving without a win!!!

I saw him and thought.. great! He’s terrible and worse than Tiffany Bird. However, it’s Kyle who has been worse.

What's with this year of basketmaul?   Is it just Chuck's crew?

42-37 Stanford, Ogden with 18 points and just made a 3 - just now a beautiful pass to Somfai for a basket
44-39 with 1.21 left to go 3rd qtr

RE: WBB: Stanford v. Oregon 3 p.m. ESPN - petersalas - 12-21-2025

Considering it’s 5 vs 8, I think this is not bad. Hopefully they can out score Oregon in the 4th quarter even by 1 point cause that means a win!

RE: WBB: Stanford v. Oregon 3 p.m. ESPN - M T - 12-21-2025

i saw the ball handling crew with 14 seconds to go in the 3rd and I had a bad feeling...

Looks to me like neither team wants to win this game.

Nice 64-53 win, with another big fourth quarter (20-12) to seal the game.  Once again the defense came to play.

Ogden with 20 points.  Agara and Somfai (who had another double-double) each with 10 rebounds.
